Re: The end of pay-per-view
PPV is a dying business in general I think, and this might be the nail in the coffin for it.
Re: The end of pay-per-view
I think they'll get rid of PPV, but it'll become like the Superbowl: you'll get it free but you'll sit through a ton of commercials to do so. They can't just put on fights for free, they need to get some kind of revenue stream coming in other than ticket sales.
Re: The end of pay-per-view
This fight pretty much guarantees the next ppv will be a dud.
Re: The end of pay-per-view
Unfortunately in England PPV seems to be making a big comeback, I was quite happy paying £12 a month for BoxNation, I got to watch all of the big fights in America and nearly every week there was a full card of domestic fights, they weren't always great fights but it was better than watching Britains got talent or some other shite like that.
Now Hearne has seen the money he can make for it he is putting fucking terrible cards on
Brook v Gavin
Mitchell v Linares
Joshua v Johnson
Thanks but no thanks, I think I will be getting a stream for that one.
Re: The end of pay-per-view
Quality PPV for your money mostly ended with Don King. $100 for one fight and two showcase gimmes is milking a dead cow
