best live show you've ever seen
Damn, I saw so many of them. Grateful Dead, Yes, Steve Windwood, Clapton during his from the cradle show which was phenomenal, not his standard show, Blues Traveler, Counting Crows, Dylan and numerous more shows including little known bands in clubs in NYC and Boston. The Dead were always one of my tops, on a good night, when they were on, it was a beautiful thing. It's hard to pick a favorite but I think the Stones consistently put on the best live show. I know it's commercialized arenas rock but the Stones live were something to see. I think now they have become a Stones cover band, I wasn't around to see them in their hey day but the 90s were good years for the Stones.
On a side note, if I never heat Clapton do Layla the rest of my life it would still be too often.

:-\ lot to choose from,Ac/dc with Bonn Scott in the early days Dylan,Tull was amazing live in the 70's . Ice T and his band was stand out a 90's experience as were Tool. Last few years; Prince, Black Sabbath, and lately a live on stage play called 'The Beast' written by Eddie perfect, a murderous, carnivorous black comedy surrounding three couples who raise their own cow for slaughter and their lives lived get a little bit fucked up over dinner one night, total masterpiece.

Tull, yes, they used to put on a Halloween show every year in my state. Damn good band. Amazing how Ian threw that flute up and caught it in playing position not missing a beat.

Yeah some magic involved too seen him appear and disappear real fast from one area to another once he must have swung on a rope in between light changes or something to come up on another platform under another light. as well as giant ballons the audience got to play with always fun.I mentioned already that once the whole band were playing to us as they were under giant sculptures that were onstage playing chamber music quietly while the audience were being seated for about 30 minutes or more then they got heavier and heavier until the giant paper mache sculptures got ripped off them.:o was great.
Re: best live show you've ever seen
The best show live Thin Lizzy 1978 Liverpool Empire, they were brilliant, hell it was great
five mates, that concert was with out doubt the best I've ever seen.:)
Re: best live show you've ever seen
I've seen LOADS of bands live but two that really stood out for putting on a "Show" were The Who at Londons Hyde Park about 10 years ago and Muse at the New Wembley Stadium about 8-9 years ago.
I remember seeing The Chemical Brothers at Brixton Academy in London about 15 years ago and they literally blew the fucking roof off with some mind bending tunes ;)
Re: best live show you've ever seen
I've seen heaps of life show but the best one was a ping pong show in pataya!
When it comes to band i've seen Dylan, Bruuce springstein, BB King, Rod stewart, "per gessle" or as you know him, roxette. Also seen Willie nelson i sat next to Ron Jeremy the porn actor. And if we change to a different style of music i've seen a lot of house music artist, been to a lot of festivals!

Re: best live show you've ever seen
Andre did you end up going to the pink floyd experience which was in april? St kilda?
Re: best live show you've ever seen
well my favourite types of music is country, 60's and 70's stuff and a bit of blues
the best live shows I have seen though would be
Spiritualized - The Sage (Newcastle) - 19 December 2009
Absolutely amazing gig this was, the sound in the venue is second to none, they played the entire Ladies and Gentlemen album, the sound was brilliant the set list was brilliant the athmosphere was brilliant the whole gig was awesome, to top it off they finished off with a version of silent night backed by a full choir walking out of the venue with it heavily snowing was great
The Stone Roses - Heaton Park (Manchester) - 30th June 2012
The one comeback/reunion tour that I had been waiting years for and it didn't dissapoint, I was at the second day there, Beady Eye, Pro Green (who I had never really heard of before) and Damian Marley were the support and they all hit the mark, it had a real feel of a mini festival there.
When the Roses themselves took the stage the place went wild, even Ian Browns vocals were decent, well worth the wait and it was almost worth the 9 mile walk back to the hotel afterwards
Nick Cave - The Sage (Newcastle) - 29th April 2015
Last Wednesday this was and again I will mention how great the venue is, its a bit of a ball ache travelling all the way to Newcastle (from Birmingham) but I'd much rather do that than hear it in a substandard venue, Nick Cave was on top form though, great bit of banter with the crowd, great selection of songs, the band were great (special shout out to Warren Ellis) Nick Cave was almost upstaged by a pissed up Geordie that he invited onto the stage to sing with him at the end of the show as well.
This gig is going up there although I know it is a recent gig but it is still fresh in my memory and I said as soon as I came out that it was up there with the best I've seen
I also need to mention the two times I saw Steve Earle at the symphony hall in Birmingham, both of those gigs were awesome

Re: best live show you've ever seen
July 9, 1971
Shea Stadium ~ Flushing, Queens, New York
* Grand Funk Railroad *
With Special Guest ...... 'Humble Pie'
Humble Pie ..... Steve Marriot and Peter Frampton
My neighbor was a 'Concert Photographer' for The New York Times. He got us in
for free, and we sat just to the front-left of the Stage, where he was 'clicking away'.
The rumbling was felt throughout the Stadium.
'Humble Pie' literally lifted the Stadium off the Ground with "I Don't Need No Doctor"
Later {September 20, 1971} Peter Frampton left 'Humble Pie' to go solo.........
Grand Funk Railraod were at their 'Pinnacle', though many of the critics called them
'a fabrication band', built on publicity, marketing and false press releases.
They played their asses off that night, and proved the critics wrong in front of 50,000 'plus'.
