Is "Chunky" ready for Froch, Ward and Groves 2?
Is he?
Odds are he is ready for Groves 2. But probably would put up a good showing against Froch, but would be outclassed by Ward.
I felt he won the Groves 1 fight and Warren made a way to make Groves win.
He won't be ko'd by Froch, and he will stop Groves the second time around.

Im not impressed with DeGale. He started well against Dirrell but he lost pretty much all the rounds after the first 3 except for the last. The Kds made it a close fight but DeGale spent a good 25 minutes staying away without throwing any punches. Imo he let it slip away and Dirrell deserves a rematch before DeGale does anything else. I think Dirrell easily outboxes him next time out.

DeGale took his foot off of the pedal against Dirrell. I hate when he does that, because he could have stopped Dirrell. Dirrell is good, however. But, he was there to be stopped on his stool, at least.
DeGale's power has gotten a lot better. He never had that pop. But he is a little lazy at times, and you can see it in his punches although he has gotten a lot better.
I have been a long time advocate of him going to America and receiving some extra training with a punch-specialist. A Freddie Roach, Mark Breland or Nazim Richardson. He needs to spend at least 3 months with either of these trainers to give him the extra crispness on his shots, at least.
The mental stamina and concentration can take place as a result of him just having more confidence that he can throw a decent punch like a real professional how he wants and when he wants.

When this fight happened, Degale was Warren's fighter, Groves was a Hayemaker Promotions fighter, and Warren looked visably pissed off that Degale didn't win like he'd said he would. Warren's post fight interview was hilarious as he wouldn't look directly at the camera. Warren did say he thought Degale won by a point.
It also wasn't a dodgy decision. Like against Dirrell, Degale took rounds off and Groves nicked it in my opinion. I had it 115-113 Groves.
Both Degale and Groves seem to have a stamina issue so a 2nd fight would be interesting.

He's more than ready for any of them. Dirrell was about as tough a style for him as it gets.
I think he stops Groves in the rematch.
He frustrates and outpoints Froch.
Ward beats him (although he has to show the inactivity hasn't damaged him).

Warren is a dodgy promoter. I thought we all knew this?!?!
Re: Is "Chunky" ready for Froch, Ward and Groves 2?
De Gale fought a close fight with Groves and the return will be close too. Groves has to win the title in the USA as well so that is no easy feat. I could see Froch outmuscle De Gale. Ward beats everyone when he gets in the ring.

Dodgy for his own means. Sabotaging your own fighter doesn't make you any money. He's dodgy, not dumb.

DeGale impressed me. I think he won easily. The KDs and coming on strong the last two rounds had me convinced he would win. Rematch? Sure, in the UK.

No rematch, it had too many dull rounds where they were just standing. Forget that.
Re: Is "Chunky" ready for Froch, Ward and Groves 2?
He's ready for anyone, Dirrell is a really hard guy to fight. Aside from the knockdowns that fight went more or less how I thought it might, Degale was lucky to win but he'll do much better against anyone else aside from Ward imo.
Re: Is "Chunky" ready for Froch, Ward and Groves 2?
I wasn't terrible impressed with his performance against Dirrell. Got the knock downs but got sloppy and completely took his foot off the gas in the mid rounds.
I don't "fancy" (as the Brits say) his chances against Froch or Groves.
Ward would eat him for breakfast.
Re: Is "Chunky" ready for Froch, Ward and Groves 2?
I'd pick him over Froch if it happened, that's a completely different task. How often is a good southpaw going to have to fight another? Not to much you can read into it imo, and the fact that DeGale was even able to drop Dirrell early like that is a statement. He's not fleet of foot and maybe cant pace himself well over 12, but I seriously think it wouldn't matter and he'd knock Carl out.

De Gale does not have the power to knock out Froch, not even GGG does. De Gale best bet is to out box him. Do not get carried away, even De Gale was surprised he knocked down Dirrell. :)

Don't get carried away yourself, SON! DeGAle absolutely has enough power to stop Froch imo, and that would be his best bet. Dirrell is much harder to tag than Carl is, the fight would be completely different.
