Why the uk fans may dislike Lennox Lewis

a) He had no character, he had the personality of a brick wall
b) We don't know where he is from, Canada, Britain or Jamaica? ???
c) He was so boring in the ring, not exciting at all.
d) he beat up Mike Tyson (considering alot of boxing fans like Mike)

It has absoultely nothing to do with the colour of his skin, because if that were the case.....why is it that Chris Eubank, Watson, Bruno and Nigel Benn are so popular?

Personally i liked LL, he was calm, always chilled, occasionally funny ;D.....and a master of the sport in the ring. He beat everyone there was to beat and never lost if you include his rematches.

Lennox beat every one who was infront of him at some point in his career, I've always liked him but your average British Fight fan finding LL boring and idolising an over hype heartless waste of talent like Naseem shows you how much they know... ;)

I don't even know where this is all coming from - I love the bloke.

P.S He was born in England and lived here until he was 11!! He is English!!!!

:coolclick: the one. I was never a fan of Lewis and I'm finding it hard to explain why. Your a, b, c, d, is probably closest to why I never took to him. I would also add the 'Bruno' factor. I read somewhere else on the forum about someone saying many boxing fans can only have one favourite in one division and though it was rubbish but looking back I think I fell into that group with Bruno and I guess Lennox was always second best for me even though he was by far the better boxer.

That said as much as I think Lewis is overrated I really wish we had someone in todays group of heavies like him. It's true you never realise what you've got until it's gone.

he was a good fighter, a very good one infact...

Nah, When I say 'Fighter' I meen some one who could 'go in the trenches' against some one as good or better than himself and hold his own/beat them... ;)

Maybe UK fans don't like him because he won the Gold medal for Canada, and not his home country.

I think if u asked the average brit what they thought af lennox lewis, most of them would say they don't have an opinion. He wasn't a big people's person, he was dead dead serious n most of his big fights were in america, couple that the fact he couldn't decide which country he was from, n i think u have ur answer

Yep style wise, Lennox and Vitali were similar ( other then Vitalis style being possibly one of the most robot like in the whole of boxing history )

Just that Lennox ruled the roost at a time when there were still some decent boxers and he was a world champ, Vitali was a king amung bums.
