Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
Wards team has been hinting at it but now they are saying it directly to Fat Dan Rafael. He wants GGG in the fall and then to move to 175 for Kovalev. They say they are willing to do 50/50 and cut weight for GGG. And they will not ask for a catchweight against Krusher. Guess we will see who is really looking for the hard fights now.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
If that's true that means that ward is serious about making up for his lost time.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
He better watch out fighting Kovalev.
He's got an arm like a leg, and a punch that can sink a battleship.

Two easy nights work for Ward. Finally GGG (The over hyped slavak hype job) wil get beaten easily, then Kovalev will be even easier.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
There sure are lots of virtual fights these days.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
I would really believe it when it happens. Ward is the best but is very slow, meticulous and conservative about it. If he does this then he will be going against everything he has done before.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
I don't think either of these fights will happen
If either did tho I would have a healthy respect for ward win lose or draw

And watch, if it doesn't happen people will blame Ward because they don't like him. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
On top of that Ward also makes it known he won't weaken the killer above him when he moves up for him next. I don't even like Ward but he's the guy that is going out of his way to make the hard fights. That should be respected by all fans. Don't watch, his style isn't for everyone but respect a man that is genuinely trying for the guys that are rumored to be feared.
I have a very high regard for Ward, and at his best he beats anyone and everyone at 168 & 175, but do you seriously believe this bullshit?
He says he's gonna fights 4 times this year , he's fought once. He says he didn't need a tune up fight and fights Paul Smith! He says his 1st fight back will be no problem at 168 and guess what? It's a fucking catch weight .
"Going out of his way to make the hard fights?" When was the last time he made a hard fight?
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
Ward is going for glory here. He wants to beat GGG and then beat Kovalev and then beat the living shit out of Stevenson. Then, what do we say after that?
Chavez Jr. is not a fight we can believe now... Bute is a not a challenge... and Froch retired.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
Just curious. Exactly why is Ward "one hell of a douche outside of the ring"?
Would you care to elaborate?
Not that I'm an Andre fan... I find him to be boring as drying paint inside the ring.
I also completely dislike his ridiculous inactivity.
But outside the ring?
Don't know enough about the man to make such a damning statement... surely you must.

Why that impression? Aside from the religion thing, he actually seems pretty respectful and sensible for a fighter, to me at least? If anything he isn't enough of a douche, he's no good at marketing himself and is perhaps trying to say the right things to generate interest but just can't quite pull it off.
He obviously hasn't been maximizing his career for whatever reason, but I would say several of the fights he has taken make it pretty unlikely he is scared of anyone.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
He wants Kovalev so much he steps up in catchweights vs bloated journeymen. Ward is making as much news with "what ifs" and talking as he is for what he's done in the ring lately.
