Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
I'm so sick of seeing good worthy fighters get robbed. this judging was a disgrace to the sport and those judges should be fired. Yunie was new, an underdog, and he fought great and had great heart, and took some huge shots and came back even harder. NO WAY did pascal deserve that decision. its one of the worst decisions in last few years.

... a robbery that robbed boxing. Apparently Pascal was being promoted by Krusher Pomotions, Sergey's promotion company. Sooooo...
Furthermore, a Kovalev fight with Gonzalez is MUCH more appealing, to me at least, than a rematch with Pascal when we know Pascal will be beaten again by Kovalev.
Gonzalez is a guy to watch.
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
They way Gonzalez cried after the fight just tore me up... just tore me up... damnit, these crooked judges have no fucking heart. No fucking shame!!!!
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
Although not on the scale of Oscar vs. Trinidad, or Roy Jones at the 88 Olympics, in terms of how high profile it was/is, it is just as much of a naked shame of a robbery it was.
The only other non-title fight I can think of that came close to this was Emanuel Augustus vs. Courtney Burton 1. Augustus came back to stop Burton in their second match.
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
I had Gonzales up by one point. 96/95. 5-4-1.

im right there with you. i felt REALLY bad for the guy. all he went through just to get that shot, and that happens? total bullshit. i love boxing but the corruption is out of control in usa boxing.
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
I thought he won, but I'm not sure it was a robbery. There's a difference.

Yeah I agree, I watched it again and I had it 6-4 Gonzalez.
The wrong guy got the nod IMO, but technically too close to be a full blown "robbery".
In watching again, I have no idea how anyone could have Pascal winning 6 of those 10 rounds though.
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
Not a robbery but Gonzalez did deserve a close victory, in my opinion.
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
Bad decision in my opinion Gonzalez won the fight. Pascal got the decision to set up a rematch with Krusher
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
I had Gonzalez ahead, I thought they would call it a draw. Didn't think Pascal did enough to get the win. I'd like to see a rematch it was a nice fight
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
I had it 8-2 Gonzalez. Pascal was outworked, outlanded, getting the worse of the exchanges, forced to retreat the entire fight etc. Gonzalez won that fight easy and thus a robbery. Nobody has Pascal winning which means it must be a robbery. The best I've seen argued is that there were some close rounds, so Pascal gets all of those AND some gifts? A horrible thing to do to an undefeated fighter like that. Not even close.
Re: Yunieesky Gonzalez was ROBBED. Jean Pascal Lost....
I just don't get who the fuck wants to see a Jean Pascal/Kovalev rematch, even if Pascal knocked Gonzalez out in 30 seconds.
Am I fucking crazy, or did Jean Pascal take the worst beating of his career and get BRUTALLY stopped in 8 rounds vs Kovalev?
He had some good moments against Kovalev but there were two things that were CONCLUSIVELY proved in that fight...
a) Jean Pascal, although he's very strong and explosive, is not a big puncher and doesn't have the power to bother Kovalev.
b) Jean Pascal has a great chin and is tough as nails, but he cannot handle Kovalev's power.
Am I crazy? Am I misremembering the fight??
