HBO's Current Top 10 P4P Sparko Merchants. Fact.
This is from the HBO podcast - (https://soundcloud.com/hboboxing/hbo...pound-punchers)
10. Andy Lee (Middleweight, Ireland)
9. Takashi Uchiyama (Super Featherweight Japan)
8. Artur Beterbiyev (Light Heavyweight, Russia)
7. Marcos Maidana (Welterweight, Argentina)
6. Adonis Stevenson (Light Heavyweight, Canada)
5. David Lemieux (Middleweight, Canada)
4. Wladimir Klitschko (Heavyweight, Ukraine)
3. Sergey Kovalev (Light Heavyweight, Russia)
2. Gennady Golovkin (Middleweight, Kazakhstan)
1. Román González (Flyweight, Nicaragua)
I can think of two guys that should be on this list. One is an absolute shocking omission who arguably should be top 5 ranked.
((on a side note - notice there are no Americans? Just an observation))

How in the fuck is Deontay Wilder not on that list? He should be #1. 33 KOs in 34 wins, all but two of those fights ended in 4 rounds or less. He one-punched Liakhovich into a seizure.
I understand their trying to push Gonzalez hard, and he is undoubtedly a superb talent with a big punch, but can we really say the guy is the #1 puncher in the sport?

Him there but no Wilder? Curtis Stevens? Nicolas Walters?
No Lucas Matthysse?? 34 KOs in 37 wins, huge power in both hands, I mean come on.
I'd put Terence Crawford in there over Andy Lee for fucks sake.

Other than Uchiyama they're all/were HBO fighters. Maybe Uchiyama fought on HBO and I can't remember. It's not surprising HBO are going to hype HBO guys. They're not going to do people like Haymon any favours.

Lee and Maidana shouldnt be on the list and would replace them with AJ and Inoue. Its a P4P list so level of opponent should be taken into account and Maidana and Wilder look lacking to me at the top level. Maidana always goes the distance here and Wilder only fought one decent heavyweight and went the distance and struggling against Molina keeps him off the list for me.
You could argue AJ shouldnt be there as his level of opponents have been poor but considering he flattened Johnson who goes the distance with everyone I think its fair to add him in.

Marcos Maidana has all but retired.

So you throw in Anthony Joshua? Who has he knocked out a HW worth a shit?
How can Deontay not be p4p on the hardest punchers list? He's 219-229lbs and he is the hardest banger at HW (which makes him the hardest banger in boxing), and he's fighting guys that have anywhere from 10-30lbs on him. Stiverne had 20lbs on him.
Anthony Joshua is a 250lb man.

To leave out Lucas Matthysse is ridiculous.
Walters should be in there too. And if you include heavyweights, which is a bit silly as "light" punching giants are gonna smash any average fighter, then Wilder is in.

Its hbo heavy, to be expected. A lot like when Lamps introduces the judges before the scores are read and points only to HBO aired bouts counting as "big experience fights" for them. Talk about loaded.
How Matthysse is not on there is odd though as he fights Saturday night.
