How should Fury go about beating Wlad's ass?
Klit's gotta go
Peds, they gotta be on the same level eh ;)
Pressure and consistant punches in bunches.
Wlad is fine dealing with ones and twos and has been lucky not to face anyone with the skill to throw effective combinations.
Watch the Jennings fight. When Jennings works, Wlad hesitates. Tyson has the ability to pour it on.
Bear hug him. Rabbit punch him. Goad him. Hit him low etc etc and drain him
Then knock him out in the 7th
Simple
Right. And it is rare for a giant to have such agility and fury has that.
When wlad is up against tall fighters like himself, he usually stays on the outside instead of his usual clinchfest.
My initial thought was that fury should use his mobility and box with him but now im starting to think that he should force an inside fight.. Wlad has no inside game and as strong as fury is, he should make it a dirty fight at close range.
He should throw caution to the winds and go for that KO, it's the only way he can win. Lol
First thing is..... do not get hit or it is curtains early.
Wlad has destroyed fighters that have good chins... Fury has no chin.
Worryingly, Steve cunningham dropped him heavy and he isn't known for any real power.
----------------
If he can avoid being hit with a massive shot he is still less than half as skilled as Wlad as a boxer and he will not be able to outbox him... so he needs to jab and move then get inside for big combos, before pulling out and controlling the fight from the outside.
----------------
More realistically I believe that he needs to KO Wlad! He needs that stoppage and the only saving grace is that Wlad has a weak chin.
All theory... I don't see Fury getting past 4 rounds.
He just doesn't have the chin, power or skills to do anything Wlad hasn't seen and handled before.
However I'd love Fury or Wlad to win as both annoy me.
Wlad wont be able to do much if Tyson keeps his punch rate up which will not be a problem for him. Wlad doesnt like to be pressured and every time he is for instance against smaller fighter like Jennings, Chambers and Povetkin he cant box with them, he has to stall the action by holding. Wlad is good at what he does against the fighters hes faced, well beaten but to me if a fighter has good boxing ability (which Tyson does despite people like vendettos repeating over and over that he has little skill) and has belief to keep pressuring Wlad he can win.
I think Wlad will be trying to hold a lot here.
Fury has to use his size and reach to win and outbox Wlad and take away his best weapon which is Wlad's jab.
After frustrating and out boxing Wlad, Fury should drop right hands and uppercuts as Wlad tries to hug and fight dirty with Tyson.
Fury should then use his weight and size to get his own back and lean on Wlad and tire the old man out.
Fury should finish strong and win a decision or if he can stop Wlad because he could get cheated out of a decision.
Start fast, keep the punches flowing and never let Klitschko get comfortable.
Timing. For all Wlad's tiresome tying up and leaning on, which not so much bend the rules as tear the book up, the guy has skills. He knows how to make space and he is more than capable of landing a big right or even upper cutting Big ole Fury, and ending it very quickly with one punch, or a short combination, after a punch that stuns Tyson.
He is brutally efficient at times and Fury is a highlight KO waiting to happen.
I'm not sure if I can really count myself as a Fury fan as such. I like the guy, but I find his antics outside the ring more entertaining than what he does inside it. He's not exactly overly blessed with talent and has been in his share of lousy fights.
If I were him I would just try a bit of everything. Make it ugly at times and mess Wlad around, fight orthodox and southpaw and keep it long in other rounds and, if he's confident he can risk taking a shot, he should take it to him as well. Just be unpredictable and don't let Wlad settle into a rhythm.
I honestly haven't got a clue how this is going to pan out and that's what makes it interesting. Fury's chin is the biggest worry. He's been down against some light punchers, sure, but he's always got up on steady legs and got straight back into it so he seems to be able to recover pretty quickly. The trouble is, he's never been in with someone with Wlad's power before and there's no doubting that Wlad is in a different league to his previous opponents. We just don't know how good or bad Fury is. He could easily be knocked out the first time Wlad hits him with a solid shot or he could produce something no one thinks he's capable of. It's a mystery to me!
