Donaire - Quigg close to a deal
Re: Donaire - Quigg close to a deal
Slow and easier to hit compared to Donaire is a fair comment. Not long ago Donaire was a top P4P fighter. Even in defeat he decked Rigo and turned Walters into a drunk. Brave of Quigg (his team) to take this fight if it happens.

And Tito's dad told him he was winning the fight against Hopkins;D Even at the end of the eleventh. Good move by Quigg. He needs to put his head out there. Be a shame if he and Frampton misses the boat but so be it. I think Quigg is as fast as Donaire or maybe a smidgen slower. I'd be more concerned about the actual counter punching then the speed delivering it. Quigg can barrel in a little at times like Darchinyan. Donaires dad said the same thing about Walters. Scott has to be careful not to get caught lazy late in the fight when he's ahead on the cards. Glad its looking like Manchester. It would be a tough fight to take in the first one across the pond although it may not have effected him at all.

Donaire's best days are behind him. He will beat good fighters, but not the top ones. Overall he is a decent boxer, really good power, but HBO talked him up as P4P. He never came close to my top 5.

He always looked bigger then everyone he fought and noticeable. Not sure how he managed 115 because when he moved up to 118 to challenge Sydorenko, it looked like he was fighting a 12 year old.
I'v always thought of him as a one hit wonder and he got way to much mileage out of that Darchinyan ko imo. Vic was staying with him in the fight, got sloppy coming in and got zeroed. When he got schooled by Rigo he said 122 was to small and when he got destroyed by Walters 126 was to big. Maybe 122 reignites him. He wont be able to keep up with Quiggs pace and will be looking for the bomb all night on a counter. Surly Quiggs team along with himself know this.
Would love to see Rigo/Quigg

Quigg and Frampton will fight the best fighters out there rather than fight one another?
That is acceptable.

I fell for it also. He was going to be the next big thing. I think he's done also. I mean as a top fighter.

It was ambitious to move up to featherweight, and I think part of the reason he moved up was that he lost to Rigo. However, losing to Rigo didn't make him a bad fighter. There's no shame in losing to Rigo. He beat the best at 115, 118 and 122, other than Rigo. He's a terrific fighter. If he beats Quigg, he cements his legacy in my opinion. I happen to think that he's on the downside of his career though and I don't favor him in the match up.
