Time to start sending a message to today's youth
Two Texas High School Football Players Ejected For Drilling Referee | ThePostGame
News routinely become more and more outrageous. Now we have high school football players taking out a referee during a game. Press charges? Never play football again? Damn straight. Anything less would be preposterously lame and stupid. Make an example of these two hoodlums and put a little grain of sand in the teaching of today's youth.
Re: Time to start sending a message to today's youth
Watched this on the evening news and these shits should definitely be charged. How dumb can they be ??? to actually have an opportunity in one of the biggest College football states in the nation..and literally flush early career, scholarship hopes down the shitter for a personal beef. ON A KICKOFF RETURN no less..you can't even pretend to hide the intent there.
Re: Time to start sending a message to today's youth
Absolutely. If you're that stupid, you should be deemed unfit for college. Assuming they can be charged as adults, they should be charged, and do time. The punishment, I think, should be severe, to discourage any other numbnuts from performing similar atrocities.
Re: Time to start sending a message to today's youth
Absolutely deplorable behavior. You may not agree with the ref, but you NEVER make contact with them no matter how they respond to you. These kids should be banned from ALL school related sports activities, sentenced to community service, anger management classes, and of course should offer heartfelt apologies to the referee.....once that is done maybe they can get reinstated to play sports, but certainly not until the punishments have run their course.
If I ever have a child who plays sports, and if either of those kids were my child, I would have stormed the field and whupped their ass right in front of that entire crowd and God! Then drug them off the field by their ear.

Drugging children by their ear or anywhere else does not a good parent make Lyle.
Well pardon my dialectical variant to the past tense version of "drag"
Re: Time to start sending a message to today's youth
These kids need anger management classes. I would have humiliated and beat them. Brilliant.

Well, well, well......
As usual, there's more to the story than meets the eye. It started out as just a case of two high school football players leveling a referee during a game, and getting summarily suspended, and pending further disciplinary action. Now, it appears, it turns out they were "ordered" to carry out the hit by their assistant football coach. Well, well, well..... The plot thickens, as they say.
Well, I wouldn't waste too much time on this. I'd just add the assistant coach's head to the bonfire and ban him from football for life. Case closed.

Re: Time to start sending a message to today's youth
There is still no excuse at all for their actions. At high school football games typically you have school administrators there at the games, if the ref really said the "racial slurs" the players have said he did then those players should have gone to the HEAD Coach with it and if he said nothing, then after the game or during halftime you speak with a principal or someone with some authority.
No excuse for those actions.
Re: Time to start sending a message to today's youth
Damn right, Lyle.
That's why I said they should just "ADD" the assistant coach's head to the bonfire. 'Cause no matter what he told or didn't tell his players, no young man in his right mind has any business taking down a game official the way they did. You let that go, everything starts unraveling.
