Bute vs Degale looming in Quebec
Nov 14th. Not sure what Bute has left mentally for dealing with adversity but it could turn out to be a pretty good fight. That Quebec crowd could provide that one last spark in Bute.
Nothing definitive.

BoxingScene.com has confirmed some of the recent rumblings in Canada, regarding a super middleweight collision between recently crowned IBF champion James DeGale (21-1, 14KOs) and Canadian superstar Lucian Bute (32-2, 25KOs).
The working date is November 14th in Quebec. The Videotron Centre, which holds over 20,000, is the venue being pursued. There has been no confirmation as to which Premier Boxing Champions network is being targeted for the fight.
Both Bute and DeGale are signed with manager/adviser Al Haymon.
DeGale became the first British Olympic gold medal winner to capture a world title when he traveled to the United States to win a twelve round decision over Andre Dirrell on May 23rd in Boston.
Bute snapped a very lengthy layoff last month, when he knocked out Andrea Di Luisa in four rounds at the Bell Centre in Montreal. It was Bute's first stoppage win since July of 2011.
Immediately after Bute's fight was over, there were immediate whispers of a fall fight with DeGale.
From what BoxingScene was told by multiple sources with knowledge of the negotiations, both fighters are on board with the match, but the financial terms have yet to be worked out.

If he loses , he's fucked!
Whereas if he made a defence in England against Bute , it wouldn't be a Stadium fight , but it would be PPV, surely he's gonna make more money out of that AND He would be a very heavy favourite.
In Canada, there'll always be a risk.
Maybe it isn't that, maybe Degale isn't a big draw over here. If that's the case all this smarmy shit about fighting Groves for 90% of the purse is making him look a complete cunt!
Groves has beaten him in the amateurs and the Pro's AND sold Wembley Stadium out, and Degale fucking hates it!
Haymon is double dipping the chip here and playing it smart. He knows that Bute will still sell out the Bell or the new one and Degale at present cant carry a card. He's a little gun shy of Degale I think because of the bad taste left in his mouth from Broner. I think its a good move from an economic standpoint and its a nice first test for Degale fresh after winning. Degale may also have to travel in the future so its a decent test of his metal. The guy he's fighting fell apart in Nottingham his first time outside Quebec. I've also seen Kesslers name mentioned.

This will be a quick fight

Degale did a nice job in beating Dirrell in Boston but if this ends up in Quebec like it most likely would he's about to witness a different animal. He will have the same feeling Bute did on the tarmac at Nottingham. I think he will also carry a false sense of security prior to hitting the Quebec wall of noise and find himself in quite a different state of mind. I believe there is a good chance that he folds like a Walmart lawn chair.

De Gale should beat Bute.
Re: Bute vs Degale looming in Quebec
If James jumps on him he before he settles he can get bite out of there early but if it goes 12 in Canada well most likely see a hometown decision

Agree with you
Re: Bute vs Degale looming in Quebec
Seems a bit odd to me. You win a title in the other fella's backyard. Come home to a heroes welcome. Then defend the title in the next fella's backyard which means it's the middle of the night for your home fans. Surely you would want to build on the success in your home.
However, obviously it's all about the spondoolicks and at the moment Al pays best.
Bute hasn't looked right since Froch bashed him up. Good name for your record though.

You've got to hand it to De Gale, he doesn't give a fuck about home comforts or being protected. I agree about Bute, I think De Gale especially with the experience of his last fight wins this easily.
Re: Bute vs Degale looming in Quebec
I have no idea how DeGale draws at home, but the only thing that surprises me about this fight is that Bute would take it! He IS a big draw in Montreal no question, and I don't think he's half the fighter anyone(or at least I) thought he was going to be, I gave him a very slim chance of even lasting the distance against DeGale.
I also think DeGale beat Groves in the first fight, would beat him easily if they rematched, and that Groves-Bute is actually a much more even fight than this.
Re: Bute vs Degale looming in Quebec
I say DeGale by stoppage.
