a rapid movement, the jab should go out and return to the same position in an instant.
it means rather than pushing the punch u sort of flik it out
There should be "snap" in all your punches. All punches are driven by a torquing of the hips and waist (some like the jab a slight turn, the others a full turn) and that twist needs to be sharp and violent
like your snapping a rubber band; very quick, yet very painful. :-[
