Joppy! Why isn't it Calzaghe? Kessler has sh*tloads of power, yet no balls whatsoever!
I do not think that Calzaghe is ready to fight in May ;-)Quote:

I guess Kessler's just staying busy, waiting for a chance against a more worthy opponent.
The fight date hasn't been set yet, at least according to boxrec.com. I don't think that it's a case of Kessler chickening out by taking on an easy opponent, just an inability of his manager to find a more suitable opponent that's willing to fight him right now.
Regardless of Calzaghe being in negotiations etc, it is a poor move on Kessler's part to fight Joppy who has become nothing more than a punching bag. Even if Kessler does stop him, that won't impress me. Kessler should fight someone worth while, he looks good but he has taken too many of these type of fights and needs to step it up and grab attention in my opinion.
I would also like to watch Kessler against a better opponent, but who is available?Quote:

Joppy has been stopped only once so the fight could IMO easily go 8-10 rounds.
I guess that Joppy is a better choice than this Evans Ashira and Sakio Bika
This fight will not go 8-10 rnds, Joppy is a small 168 fighter, Kessler is fighting in Denmark, so i think that shows how much intrest the Yanks have in this fight, otherwise it would of been held of the American shores. Im not blaming Kessler but this is a mis match.Quote:

However Kessler's promotors can't seem to make any meaningfull fights happen. Why is it noone wants to fight a WBA-beltholder? Why is it Chanet, who won the right to be Kessler's next mandatory, just won't take the fight? Why is it that Beyer absolutely does not want to fight Kessler?
There is a new breed comming to SMW (Brähmer, Bute and others) who'll probably soon be ready. But right now the only ones i think might really want to fight Kessler is Green and Mundine. And they are fighting each other first.
Kessler will get a name on his record, but to me it smells a little like a mismatch.
I would like to watch Kessler against this Peter Manfredo Jr, so he could get some PR in US. I guess Peter Manfredo Jr is quite popular in the US?
How would a fight between in US between Peter Manfredo Jr Vs. Kessler be like?
It would be a boxing lesson for Manfredo, who would be taking leather for as long as the fight goes, Kessler wins with TKO 7/8 th rnd.Quote:

It's the nature of the game.
I understand that Calzaghe goes after the big money against Jones or Tarver. The reward is much bigger and I also guess that hte risk is lesser than fighting Kessler. What I do not understand is that Chanet as mandatory to Kessler has refused to fight him and then fighting for the EBU-title against Mger Mkrtchian instead. Beyer will be Beyer.Quote:
