9. Antonio Tarver (banned for positive PED test result)
10. Mark De Mori (tenth best HW in the world? How retarded is that?)
11. Erkan Teper (he's banned for two years, but the WBA still has him in their rankings!)
12. Joseph Parker
13. Anthony Joshua
14. Salomon Haumono (he's not even a top 50 heavyweight!)

Yea thats awful haha, aside from Ortiz and Wlad probably nobody is a top 10 hw at present, maybe Pulev and Jennings. Oquendo did well enough against Chagaev to be ranked I guess:-\ CAn't be bothered to look up why Chagaev has the belt anyways, what has he done in years? He and Lucas Browne will be a worse title fight than Martin-Glazkov was, if that's possible.

What's sad is that after the wba 'tournament' sorts out and a couple guys drop, Briggs and Tarver stand to be ranked even higher based on continuing to doing nothing.

thing is, IMO boxing rankings should not be a matter of opinion

it should be based on a system where you get points for who you fight as in whats their ranking, how you win perhaps, how regular you fight, etc etc

Unfortunately it is about picking up more sanctioning fees and receiving back handers from representatives of the fighters that the WBA is interested in.

Come on now, they ranked a guy 4th best in the world whilst being dead just last year. You're getting bent out of shape over this?


The dead guys ranking was still more legitimate than Briggs.
