Anthony Joshua to be offered IBF world title eliminator | Boxing News | Sky Sports
I've only seen Takam fight once against Povetkin. Gave a decent account of himself before getting ironed out.
Should be a good test if they go for it.

Good fight and it's obvious everyone will hunt down Martin's IBF title.
However, i've seen Hearn mention Takam, Jennings, Chisora and... Johann Duhaupas a couple of times this week. The French fella went 11 rounds with Wilder and all that
Fighting Takam is a good step up in opposition and will tell us a lot more about AJ. hope it comes off. tbf with the high rankings AJ has got (don't know how btw.) he should be fighting whoever they put in front of him.
I hope this happens.
Carlos Takam is a decent top 6-10 heavyweight, and so after the fight we'll be better able to determine exactly how good Joshua is.
I've read Hearn is also considering Chisora, Jennings and Stiverne.
It'd be quicker to name who Fast Eddie hasn't put in the frame to be fair.
Charles Martin looks quite like booker t from wwf and wcw, I think he should adopt King Bookers persona for his upcoming fights.
Joshua is announcing his fight next week ive erd
Fair play to AJ/Hearn if they do this, He's seriously unleashed Joshua and seems happy to steamroll forward and go full force for a title!!
Holding AJ back and making him tread water with some "ticking over" fights would be a bad move I think.
He's got the confidence and momentum now so throw him right into the deep end!
This is a good step up fight for Joshua. Takam can fight a bit.
If they pass does Takam/ Parker become next in line for an eliminator?
Takam is a solid test for both those guys.
I think Parker is the easiest 'credible' opponent for AJ. I think he is truly dreadful but is well ranked and unbeaten. I wasn't impressed with AJ last time out but I'm guessing the fight was too personal for him to actually execute a proper gameplan, especially after getting tagged early doors.
I just felt his rhythm looked easy to read because he basically didn't show any angles nor did he vary his attacks. He needed more control.
He needs to go look comfortable in deeper waters before i am convinced he is ready for the top. If he fights an eliminator now, he could get there before he's at his peak.
Watching an interview with Hearn over the weekend, Chisora was completely ruled out. Said - "the opponent will be solid, the fans will be happy." When he says "fans" he's talking about the bods that don't know who Chocolatito is and if a fight doesn't end with a brutal violent KO it was boring.
I'm still going for Johann Duhaupas
Chisora really should be ruled out, he'd probably even be fodder for Dillian Whyte as a comeback opponent. AJ needs someone either hard as nails who will likely take him the distance, or a legit established contender who will come to win. That really doesn't leave to many people in this division does it;D Takam, Jennings, or Stiverne would all be very good really.
