WSB on Boxnation
Great that boxnation are showing this competition now, some great fighters in there.
Tonight GB take on Mexico.
Yafai v Velasquez in the 1st at 49kg. Dont know much about Yafai but he is rated pretty highly by his team. Big ask against Velasquez who is a class operator and I suspect will be too strong for Yafai.
Ashfaq v Chirino in the next. Ashfaq looks a strong fav here and would be surprised to see him beat.
McCormack v Curiel in tthe 3rd. McCormack coming off a good win against Gary Russell and has another tough fight against a fighter who has only lost against strong Cubans in this competition before.
Fowler faces former victim Rodrigues Olivas in the 4th fight of the night and expect him to win comfortably.
Final fight is a 91kg matchup between Okolie and Barraza. Okolie had a decent win in the US against an average fighter in Cam Awesome. Barraza is an unknown to me so no idea who takes this one.
Predict a GB win either 4-1 or 3-2.

Re: WSB on Boxnation
I thought box nation always showed this?

Re: WSB on Boxnation
They only showed the finals last year as far as Im aware.
GB won 5-0. Velasquez winning his fight before popping his shoulder and having to retire.
McCormack v Curiel was a cracker and Fowlers fight was decent too.

Re: WSB on Boxnation
Popping a shoulder is a career threatening injury and very painful.

Re: WSB on Boxnation
British Lionhearts claimed their third consecutive win in the World Series of Boxing, thrashing Mexico Guerreros 5-0 in London.
Light-flyweight Galal Yafai and heavyweight Lawrence Okolie claimed stoppage wins, while bantamweight Qais Ashfaq, light-welterweight Pat McCormack and heavyweight Antony Fowler won on points.
The victory consolidates the British team's lead at the top of Group B.
They have also beaten USA and Morocco.
The Lionhearts next face a second meeting with the USA Knockouts in London on 3 March.
The World Series of Boxing also serves as a route to Rio 2016, with British fighters who represent the Lionhearts eligible for selection for an Olympic qualifying event in May.
