Adrien Broner-Ashley Theophane - April 1.
The date is ironic.
This is like an in-house straightener between bods from the same gang.
Theophane has never fought beyond British title level (although does have a SD loss to Danny Garcia). He's unknown in the UK to all but the hardcore/nerds (like me). A geezer that was last seen in Britain losing to Darren Hamilton gets a "world" title shot. I'm sure you "he don't deserve a world title shot" mob will be happy about that.
Unfortunately he's not a banger, so there's not even a chance of seeing the best thing in boxing - Broner getting a hiding.

I love Adrien Broner (No Homo)
He's BY FAR the most entertaining boxer around, in fact I'd go as far to say he's the most entertaining boxer since Naseem Hamed. He's no Mayweather but I do think there is a seriously talented fighter in there. He's lost against fighters he should have really beat (Maidana, Porter).

By entertaining do you mean outside of the ring antics? If so then I could agree but his problem is that his antics really only work when he is winning. Since his decline from "stardom," he has lost most of his draw.

I give credit to Broner , he's got cojones and he's tough. He does have talent although he shows less of this as he has gone up the weights. I think if he fought at 135/140 all the time, he would have a brilliant career.
I don't think he should've beat Porter or Maidana and I don't really think he should've been in the ring with them.
I believe Tim Bradley is the most entertaining fighter out there if I'm honest , but like I said Broner does have Heart.
It doesn't really bother me that he's an absolute twat, I'm more concerned about what he does between the ropes.
Re: Adrien Broner-Ashley Theophane - April 1.
It's on Spike TV in America. What a comedown for Broner.
When he lost to Maidana it was magnificent. His second loss was kinda meh. Now he's been beaten and shown his ceiling/weaknesses he's just not so hatable anymore. Not very interesting I'm afraid.
Re: Adrien Broner-Ashley Theophane - April 1.
Ashley is lucky to get this fight and is only getting it because he is in the same stable.
Broner is not as great as he thinks he is and the sooner he faces yop opponents the sooner he gets exposed for what he is.
Re: Adrien Broner-Ashley Theophane - April 1.
Broner is not "great" period. Doesn't even drive near the neighbourhood. Acting like a undisciplined clown for the sake of reaction is something I can watch my 5 year old nephew do. Acting a clown but fighting spectacularly is something completely different than what this gimmick does.

He's gonna knock the girl outta that boy like Bruce Jenner....

I agree.
Mates rate fight.
Broner wins this and his stock goes up again.
Steer broner away from pressure fighters with power and he keeps winning...did he even beat paulie?
I thought paulie just did enough to win that fight and considering broner was not the champ didn't feel he did enough. Broner vs theophane is a bit of a joke any1 giving theophane a chance ?

No but we can all live in hope.
Re: Adrien Broner-Ashley Theophane - April 1.
Broner wins ANY fights he stays relevant. He may be an underachieving fighter, but he's a polarizing figure who attracts viewers, especially his Amateur Night interviews. Say what you want about him, but people do tune in to see "what that fool is gonna say this time." That's all that real matters

I was gonna ask the same question. Broner is tough and has fought some very good fighters, but a lot of set ups too.
This is a set up.
