Rocky Marciano and the heavy bag.
Was watching the television yesterday when Pawn Stars show was on.
A guy brought in the two heavy bags to this Law Vegas Pawn Shop that Rocky Marciano worked out on. The most interesting one was a leather heavy bag that weighed 100 lbs, that Rocy had special made and trained on. They did not say what it was filled with, but it certainly was big, heavy, and hard.
The passage of time has dimmed memory of this great fighter, but they talked about his record of being undefeated in alll fights, 49-0 record, of which 42 were knockouts in the first few rounds. He put Joe Lewis throgh the ropes. Rocky was a small guy 5 feet 8 inches and 185 pounds weight but he attributed his knock out punches and hard hitting to working out on that heavy bag.
Just an interesting piece of boxing history I am passing on.
