Sithsaithong, 16, captures IBF Pan Pacific title
Anyone else spot this story about a kid in Thailand who has been aiming to be the youngest world champion? He's been fighting since 2013, and he's only 16 now (according to boxrec and fightnews anyway).
Am I the only one that finds something horribly wrong with this story?

That means he has broken Wilfred Benitez record of youngest champion?

He is no Nipper Daly...
Seriously though I think it is a gimmick, a work, I hope the kid is getting paid well.

Not yet, as its only a regional strap, but that's what they're aiming for.

Hope he fails then.

Do kids go to school in Thailand. This kid was being punched in the head for a living at 13 years old???
If you peel back the layers on many fighters out of Thailand you'll find a blackhole of gimmicks, multiple aliases, and mismatch set ups to be honest. Same with Argentina where you'll often see the same fighter as opponent 4,5,6 times. This is a ibf "pan fried pacific" trinket. Doesn't belong in the same room with a 17 yr old Benitez beating a well established Cervantes.
