Last May was a busy month in Oklahoma. They were tracking a tornado across sw Oklahoma. It was traveling across pastures, quarter mile wide, on the ground for 15 minutes. And the cattle just kept grazing as the tornado passed by.
Many of those storms come with baseball size hail and many of the t.v. news stormchasers were turned back by the hail.
In the old Zane Grey books he talks about storms so charged with electricity that a horse's mane would crackle and the hail would KO and kill cattle. I think that, in the Texas panhandle, these were the storms that spawned (or were) tornadoes.
Wonder what it feels like inside..

Got to have been a crazy moment when man first laid eyes on a tornado. Very common here in the states ditto with hurricanes and as an added bonus hurricanes can spawn tornadoes I forget which hurricane created the most tornadoes but for a while it was Hurricane Hugo.
The British don't have much crazy weather to worry about. The Aussies I reckon have typhoons and such, don't know if you guys have tornadoes, but you've got enough deadly deadly animals in your country that you don't need the crazy weather especially when 2/3rds of your entire island nation is uninhabitable and the habitable parts have all the deadly animals.
Makes me feel like we are nothing but bacteria on this world.
