The U.S. would have lost a million soldiers if it were not for the U.S.S.R. 7 out of 10 German troops fought in the east. 8 out of 10 German soldiers died in the east. I don't think any nation paid a bigger price than the U.S.S.R. 27 million dead during WW2.
