Felix Trinidad vs Keith Thurman at 147
Both in their primes, who would win?
My prediction: Slow start from Tito as always, trying to stablish the jab. Thurman would do like many other strong and shorter welterweights did to Tito, knock him down because of the slow start. Eventually the pressure will go up from Felix and Keith will mostly focus on escaping and be off the ropes, draining his energy and will. 10th round TKO in favour of Trinidad.

This would be David Reed all over again. When the going gets tough, the tough get on their bike and try to outrun the left hook.
Re: Felix Trinidad vs Keith Thurman at 147
Can't see Thurman making it out of this one. Tito was on another level and unlike Thurman, oozed a genuine effortless kind of confidence and one punch power. Thurman may get him down but true to form Trinidad gets up smiling and his left hook lands too often as Thurman straight lanes it on the back foot.

Oh yeah, this would be up there with Sugar Ray Leonard vs Chris Algeri in my all time fantasy matchups.

147 has quickly become an overrated division.

147 has a lot of quality guys not necessarily great fighters. There are just a lot of good matches to be made.

If Thurman beats Porter, Brooks and Spence as well as Khan (for the money) then we can write about him sharing the ring with Tito.

That's kinda what I meant. I agree that the matchups are decent, but at one point it was being propped up as a renaissance of future greats

I´m glad my thread made people pop out with their emotions how hard Thurman would lose. It was a mythical matchup you could make now and Tito would still win. Because the welterweight division belong to the overpaid midgets now who get 30 hours to rehydrate. Why boxing has become a joke is this overpaying. Have one damn champ and he gets the millions. When you defeat the ONE champ in the division, it´s your turn to earn the bucks.
My post was to adress that we see a lot of shitty boxers getting exposure none of the greats got. Even having Keith in a discussion like this is a joke. Fighters dont fight anymore, they want manicure and soft hands. Warriors, oh no.
I hope the Thurman-Porter fight will deliver something that will make one or both of them grow into something. Not just overhyped fighters who are hot for one or two years. Personality doesnt exist anymore, they all are too busy telling how great they are on Instagram. Only one guy deserved to say he was the Greatest, let him rest.
Bring on a new Hands of Stone, Tito, Leonard...whatever. I´m losing hope.
Just saw Joshua pummeling a no-hoper, it all look like shit. Jesus. He will be another Bruno, we all see it coming sooner or later. But without Brunos persona. I mean chin-wise.
