As vacant as Brook is hopefully it leads to something bigger in the works. Vargas earned it off imploding Ali but watching him fight is like waiting for water to boil and Brook cruises this one.

Honestly I don't care if this fight is scrapped. Vargas is the worst champion of the division. In fact he is only champion because he is Top Rank and WBO always lines up easy wins for Top Rank fighters to pick up vacant titles. He was made to look a fool in his one big fight all except 10 seconds. Tim made him look easy.
The 6th best American WW is not really a champion. Offer Thurman what you offered Vargas, see if he'll bite. It would mean more $$$ for Kell and mean more prestige.
As is it looks like Hearn is just trying to get into a situation where Kell doesn't need to defend the IBF. It might not be the case, he may think Kell is as good as most of us think he is. But it is how it looks. He even has been mentioning going to 154 "coincidentally" exactly when he would be forced to fight Spence. It's all just a bad look and whether Kell has anything to do with it or not it reflects on him.
There's been talk of Brook going to 154 for years, long before he was "world" champ, he's fought above 147 several times in non-title fights as he's a massive welter.

Agree with Ron, I've never seen this as an interesting or competitive fight anyways, hope it doesn't come off. What the likelihood BRook does anything more meaningful instead is I don't know, but he'd win this fight comfortably 10 out of 10 times imo. Vargas doesn't have a big punch or the capacity to spoil, he's a small welterweight who is one paced, has the inferior skillset, just nothing interesting about this one.
I want to see Brook v Spence but I think we got more chance of Canelo v Brooks before that happens. Suddenly Brooks wants to move up in weight.
I dobt mind if Brook moves up weight as long as he fights a top fighter at 154. If he moves up, he will probably fight a bum.
