Yes she's been in power since 2005. Seems a little extreme. No term limit on her seat but she isdisd not elected by the people but the representatives. She seems very unpleasant @denilson200

I don't get the problem with the burkini. Look at turn of the century America and women were practically going to the shore wrapped in blankets because others were 'uncomfortable'.

It is a silly thing to be bothered by. The Germans seem more bothered by the rapid demographic changes than something cosmetic like the burkini and it is understandable.

Do you think like an easy backlash on symbolism? Had a friend mention it's really just a strip search for weapons. Given that rapid influx and ease of attacks that's another view. It's a trip really, here in the States numerous cities or counties go to the other end of the extreme banning thong bikinis. People are just too uptight. It's the beach ffs. If we survive the raw sewage spills, the shark hysteria, homeless in hordes and a ban on opened containers we should be allowed to offend on occasion.

I don't really understand it myself. Isn't it France that has banned it completely? I saw the video of a woman being cautioned by the police on a beach and thought it was lame. She wasn't hurting anyone. At the same time though, I think it is understandable that Germans are getting tense. They have let in a million migrants in a very short space of time and in a variety of European cities there are no go zones and the migrant population does tend to have a lot more children. People are getting defensive. Same seems to be happening everywhere, so I don't think it is an accident.

With the German economy that did slow considerably since 2 years, we can imagine that if things continue that way, people will not be happy and she won't make it through for very long.
