Happy Saint Patrick's day to everyone!
Did you know that St Patrick was born in what is today England? Most historians think he was born near Ravenglass, Cumbria.
Patrick was a Christian boy, a Romano-Briton, who was taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped back to Britain, but later returned to Ireland and brought Christianity to the Irish.

Did you know the Irish consider the colour green as bad luck?
Re: Happy Saint Patrick's day to everyone!
Happy day indeed! Even broke out the green scrubs and no one noticed. Have seen my fill of goofy "Irish costumes" and fake accents around the Quarter and Irish channel parade though :p. Hey it's not in every city that you can come home from work with 4 cabbages random strangers hand to you ;D.

St Patrick of Ireland was a Romano-Briton from what is today England.
St George of England was a Greek Christian from Anatolia
St Margaret of Scotland was a pretty blond Saxon girl and a descendant of Alfred the Great. She married Malcolm Canmore son of Duncan (who was killed in battle by MacBeth, not murdered by him). Their daughter married the Norman king, Henry I, whose daughter was the mother of Henry II, the first Plantagenet king.
All English/British royalty from Henry II to the present is descended from Malcolm and Margaret.

I cooked corned beef and cabbage, came out nice. I have a Guinness in the fridge I was going to break out but didn’t want to wake up groggy, I’ll save it for the next big fight night.

We bought a dozen green Krispy krème donuts for the all night clinic and rewatched vid of Peter McNeeley talking shat to Tyson to celebrate.

Had a blast. The culmination of a five year project making a film about a mates Celtic band. Lots of genuine Irish here in the city and over the bridge in Cornwall. Lots of tenuous links too. My nan was born in Ireland and a lot of my rellies still live in the travellers camp she came into the world in, but never got the guiness hats myself. Can't beat a cracking red headed maid though.
A few hundred at both gigs so lots of cracking footage but having to drive so didn't touch a drop. Brother in law turned up a bottle of wine and nine pints later and still managed to help me with the load out. Ha! I would be unconcious by then nowadays.
