can any Brit understand this guy's accent because I seriously CANNOT!!!
Re: can any Brit understand this guy's accent because I seriously CANNOT!!!
It is a difficult accent. I pick up some words but then it's an unintelligible mumble. I don't know how to have a conversation with someone like that. You don't want to be rude and keep saying 'What?!', but you have no idea what they are trying to say.

Really Miles? I thought you were a Northener? It sounds like someone from the North East (Geordie? like AdamGB?) and while it is about as opposite to my local South West accent as can be, I can understand what he is saying.

Born in the south raised in the north so sound different to others in the area. Liverpudlian and Geordie aways get me confused. Irish too after watching a Palin documentary. I've been gone so long it's harder to listen to.

Crazy thing is I understood every word ;D. Took a minute to figure out 'pube bear' and 'chairs'. Its like reading one of those tests where the letters are all jumbled up but the gist is there and topic known prior.
Want confusing, come local and try to figure out 'Yat' or true Cajun speak :cwm13:

I understood every word without any problem.
Re: can any Brit understand this guy's accent because I seriously CANNOT!!!
I get the first half of the sentence, but then it just becomes a kind of noise towards the end of the sentence and I find myself trying to piece it together, but then he starts another sentence and you can get a bit confused trying to keep up and concentrate. I also find the same thing happens with some people from Scotland. It's important to enunciate your words.

I grew up next to a bloke from Yorkshire with the thickest accent you ever did hear. He also spent plenty of time pissed which didnt help. After deciphering Alan's twang everything else is small fry.

;D Not far from the truth at all. We have guys who sit in the back of trucks on a main road holding shrimp up in the air, literally a foot from the road. Like a car cruising 50 can examine them and all that fine 'earllll' without slamming on the brakes :p. I don't trust the shrimp but when they stand there with melons and fresh honey I'm the one slamming on the brakes.
