Suspected suicide, I'm fucking gutted by this news, just this morning I listened to audioslaves first album and then switched to down on the upside by soundgarden.
I remember going to see him live a few years ago on stage for 2 and a half hours he was and played over 30 songs, one of the best gigs I've ever been to
Great voice one of the best.
I seem to be the kiss of death to musicians? David Bowie, Keith Emerson, Lou Reed, I had listened to each of them just before I found out they died.
That is sad news, still 52 for a rock star is a good run, it's young no doubt but better than 27 of course. Cornell had some great pipes on him, he could fucking belt it. It is a shame suicide or otherwise, I hope he finds peace in the next life.
If you're that bad of lucky may I suggest that you take a listen to this chap Justin Beiber?

The Police are reportedly already treating his death as suicide, he' had a drink and drug problem for years so that could be the cause of death.

Could have been anything. He could have started to drink and drug because he was depressed and even if he kicked the substance abuse maybe he couldn't kick the depression, who knows. All I know is it's a sad way to go out.Quote:

Tremendous talent and tragedy. One of the best vocalists ever on a mic regardless of genre. Had Audioslaves debut album on a loop last month with Like A Stone and I am the Highway.
Well I for one am having a small drink tonight and have just been listening to Chris Cornell all night so far, I don't have work tomorrow (seems quite apt that I am going to a funeral)
