Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Had no idea until today that he has a fight this Sunday against Aaron Herrera. Exactly how long will promoters continue to turn this guy into a live action crash test dummy? Not sure of the weight but looks a bit fleshy, shocked. The bad thing about "comebacks" like this is he'll probably..possibly.. get a nice little tko and be convinced he still has it only to be pounded on again. 147 is stacked but this guy is just going to get tossed into the opponent wood chipper again and risk mumbling and eating meals through a straw the rest of his days.

Professional boxing is a career choice. No different than being an attorney, plumber, or soldier. This is how he puts food in the table, so it's none of our business to really question why he is choosing to fight.
It's good for him that he still has some drive to train. I admire that actually. Also I think most combat sport professionals now in days use "retirements" for other reasons. Could be a legal thing, could be for peds use, maybe they increase promotional value, i mean it could be for anything other than actual retirement. So I doubt he was ever retired anyway.

Human punchbag and punch drunk.
Why risk even more beatings.

Yeah I was never a fan of that guy of course he wanted to be Antonio Margarito Jr but if you're not loading your wraps you ain't trying hard enough ;)
There's a short list of fighters who I really enjoy watching get beaten up and Rios is on it.

(Double-like button didn't work).
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
For some reason thought this would be an afternoon fight but kicks off in 20 minutes here. Odd time slot for a card.
If anyone cares Mexico and the U.S are tied 1-1 right now. We very well may not see the card at all :-X;D
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Undefeated Jose Miguel Borrego just came into the hometown of Kevin Watts and knocked him out! Good back and forth until ref stepped in and stopped it in corner of the 4th.
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
18-0 Mario Barrios fights Jose Luis Rodriquez next up. Has all the typical look of hot prospect beating down some poor fella with his trunks pulled up to his tits. Are these PBC or GBP?
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Rodriquez didn't come to lay down but feeling those shots to his belly in 2nd. Barrios showing some green, getting tagged in between long punches occasionally. Real nice punch n get out by Barrios as Rodriquez comes in. 3rd round and kid likes the uppercuts.
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Slow round by Barrios until late in 4th, digging some solid shot to the gut. Rodriquez is not pretty but still manages to score some short shots early.
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Now that they mention it on air...I'm not sure Barrios owns a jab??? Oh he lands some crisp punches but is also letting himself be bulled to ropes and giving up ground in process. Rodriquez looks hurt to body again
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Oh it all catches up! Rodriquez dropped like a bag of bricks by 5 punch combination capped with left hook liver shot, face first. Brutal ko for Barrios and worked body from bell 1.
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Running of fumes and main event time. Herrera sort of looks like Daniel Ponce de leon. Should be fine while it lasts
Re: Brandon Rios: Still determined to eat punches.
Tons of nervous upper body moving by Herrera. Rios putting shots together and chugging in, big left hook end of 1st makes Herrera sag heavy and stay still.
