Frankie Swindell- A journeyman we forgot!
Had some good scraps. May have could have won a title at Cruiser if the stars lined up for him, at a time when the Cruisers had good but BEATABLE guys like Alfred "Ice Cole and a few others.... Adolpho Washington and Uriah Grant to name a few.
I liked his fights. He had a good name. Gave some guys like Moorer a good run for his money up until the time.... But, I guess a good journeyman is all he should have been. Sorta like Dereck Rossy!

He seemed to have lost his way after Cole beat him and moved up to heavyweight.
Re: Frankie Swindell- A journeyman we forgot!
Swindell had solid skill and durability but peaked mostly at Lt hvy and after sitting on his stool vs Williams simply got fat and disinterested. Al Cole, who was much better than beatable as 190 champ, battered him and then Swindell was just trying to pay bills at hvy. Ironically Cole also went heavyweight route with natural size. Life of tired cruisers with just enough chin and pluck. Dream fight for me was always a Cole vs Orlin Norris. On style- size contrast alone would have been tops.

Rossy is a nice guy and decent heavyweight. Started out strong in the last fight then kept leaving his left low n getn tagged by this big talk PR prospect. Got hammered in about 4 rounds. This was a few weeks ago.
I felt Rossy had something special!
