Floyd needs to throw himself at promoting

I've had just about enough of GBP. It's a goddamn Mafia. At least back in the days of Don King there was also Bob Arum to give him competition. Who's giving DLH competition now? I love Miguel Cotto. But he's not promoter material. Floyd Mayweather is. He needs to step up to the plate and promote some of these black American fighters who deserve better name recognition. Face it. Us hardcore boxing fans know all about Terence Crawford. But other than that, who the hell knows his name? I'll bet you take a poll in Mexico and 95% wouldn't know who the hell Crawford is. It's all Canelo, Canelo, Canelo. Gift decisions and all. I'm sick of this B.S.

Cotto should join ranks with Floyd in order to promote other Latino fighters, since DLH is too busy hanging off Canelo's nuts. Promoting nowadays is crap. As much was said in another thread I also posted in. King and Arum were like snake oil or used car salesmen. But at least they knew how to promote. And usually their fighters weren't brought along like royalty since birth, like Canelo has been. They had to show some promise... and only then would they warrant being in King's or Arum's stable.

Oscar has always been a crap promoter and the cards he has put together have been shit (including the one at the weekend) Arum was a good promoter and King put on some good fights. I actually like Lou DiBella a lot and if I was a fighter I'd probably want him to be my promoter.

Promoting nowadays is crap? Who is giving GB competition? Not sure how much boxing you follow but it's never been in a more healthy and competitive state worldwide.

Golden Boy aren't even top of the heap, they just happen to have the biggest Latino star.

Floyd will never stop talking about himself long enough for that as he overshadows majority of his fighters with purpose. It's all about him. He anointed Davis as the true second coming and the kid comes in fat and gives up his sales tag title on the scale with hardly any mention. It'll be interesting to see how he proceeds now after all of the "nothing has been decided at this time about my return" has paid off and he declares he's done for good. Judging from the bank deposit on his last 'fight' he's probably a better promoter than given credit for.

King was the last time I felt ppv was consistently worth it. Was also much cheaper then ;D but some very memorable cards rolled out.
