I've just heard that Ferdie Pacheco has died at a ripe old age.
Lucky guy. He was in the right place at the right time to share the most exhilarating ride in sports history.
He also had the moral fortitude to tell Ali to quit, and to leave when the Greatest would not (unlike most if the gravy train freeloaders)
Rest in Peace Ferdie
I always like listening to pacheco's comments during fights. He always took a very nurturing position logically to a Fighters physical state during a bout in his commentary at ringside.
Ferdie Pacheco was a honorable man when he saw Ali was a shell of the fighter he was he would not be part of his corner. Respect him for that where others carried on.

I honestly forgot he did commentary on the Tyson fight. King talking crap and Tyson beating up Ruddock. Good old days.:D
