Garcia v Lipinets Feb.10 on Showtime
Well looks like Mikey and camp have finally picked a direction! He'll stay at 140 and look for his forth trinket facing 13-0 Sergey Lipinets. No Loma, Easter jr or Linares here and I think 140 is where he should stay, pretty decent fight but Lipinets was in pretty tough and cut up last out. Something Garcia will more than duplicate.
Re: Garcia v Lipinets Feb.10 on Showtime
I’m kind of surprised he decided to stay at 140 but not shocked. I wonder if the money was just better or if he realized that 135 was just too low for him. Either way, it’s a good solid fight for him. I have no problem with it.
Re: Garcia v Lipinets Feb.10 on Showtime
He'll pick up an easy 4th division title here. He still has options at 135 if he can make the weight easy enough after this. Plus these other vacant titles at 140 should be filled in the coming months so there are going to be good opponents for Mikey to choose from.

I don’t see him going back down after two fights at 140. Maybe some of the guys at 135 will move up.

If Loma moves to 135, would it be a catchweight?

Cannot rule anything out these days and if ever there is a mega fight that warrants bean counting the numbers etc it would be a Garcia v Loma just not sure it's necessary if we're patient. Loma was 139 morning of fight with Rigo and has the feel of a guy who could easily rise to 135. Maybe the feel to eclipse his first 'super fight' where Rigo was smaller and ultimately left some feel on anti climax..can hardly blame a guy for dominance though.. is there and he'll march right after Garcia. Would be ironic him the one coming up in weight near two divisions now ;D:-X.
First things first for Garcia, I like the fight with Lipinets. He was roughed up a bit by face first and deceptive boxing Kondo but still displayed the timing and top notch hand speed that could provide fluid competition with Garcia. Looking for ward to it.

I see Garcia has been able to keep his lightweight title.
