GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
Boxing ace Mikey Garcia will attempt to become a four-weight World Champion when he faces unbeaten 140-pound titleholder Sergey Lipinets, exclusively live on BoxNation on March 10th.
30-year-old Garcia, with a record of 37 fights unbeaten with 30 KOs, is regarded amongst the best pound-for-pound fighters around and will be looking to add Lipinets' IBF Super-Lightweight crown to his collection.
The Kazakh-born boxer however will be in no mood to surrender his Championship belt and has dismissed all 13 of his opponents, with 10 of those failing to hear the final bell.
Californian Garcia enjoyed an impressive 2017 by scoring a highlight reel knockout of Dejan Zlaticanin to win the WBC Lightweight World Title in January, before dominating four-division champion Adrien Broner on his way to a unanimous decision in July.
With a win, Garcia would become only the third fighter in modern history to become Champion at 126, 130, 135 and 140-pounds, joining future Hall-of-Famers Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao.
Taking place at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Garcia, who hails from a famous boxing family, will be looking to do them proud.
28-year-old Lipinets is a genuine 140-pounder and he will be hoping that the leap up in weight will be too much for Garcia.
Trained by Buddy McGirt, Lipinets captured his World Title in his last fight by defeating Akihiro Kondo via a unanimous decision in November. He is well aware a victory over the accomplished Garcia will cement his place as a top-level operator.

Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
I feel Garcia is on another level to Lipinets. He struggled with the unheralded Kondo, that doesn't bode well for stepping up against Mikey. Mid to late KO for Garcia in dominant fashion.
Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
Lipinets is a solid fighter but Garcia is just on another level.

Also on Showtime for us non after midnight Stateside viewers ;D. Very nice triple header. Commey v Luna should also be entertaining. Has anyone ever heard 'a cut heals one percent a day'? Not sure how much truth there is to that. Surely sharpshooting of Garcia will open up fresh cuts Lipinets sustained last fight out. Lipinets is a fine boxer but Mikey has better of both worlds, can walk him down or absolutely shred him boxing while forcing Lipinets to play aggressor.

I think this is the "litmus" test for Mikey ..........
...... I'll get my coat
Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
Very good matchup.
Lipinets is as tough as they come and probably the stronger man, but Garcia has the better boxing skills.
Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
Commey beating the brakes off of Luna first 3 rounds. Huge gap in levels so far.
Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
Very very brutal beat down for 2 knockdowns of Luna and ref waves it off in 6th. His left cheek is massive. Two went to war there.
Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
That was pretty competitive until the 6th.
Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
Mario Barrios has some back acne on him. Nice skills too. Not unhittable but a decent jab and good balnce.

2-0 Relikh.
Damn trying to watch both here right now.
Re: GARCIA v LIPINETS Box Nation 10th March 2018
Very high guard and constant movement from Barthelemy. Like the pressure and shots from Relikh over 2 rounds. Barthelemy is often off and bit bothered under pressure.
