On May 15-16, when the Crescent Moon is sighted, Ramadan begins.

The first verses of the Qu'ran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad during the last third of Ramadan, making this an especially holy period.

The word “Ramadan” is derived from an Arabic word for intense heat, scorched ground and shortness of food and drink. It is considered to be the most holy and blessed month. Fighting is not allowed during this period.

The month of Ramadan traditionally begins with a new moon sighting, marking the start of the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. Many Muslims (except children, the sick and the elderly) abstain from food, drink, and certain other activities during daylight hours in Ramadan. This is considered as the holiest season in the Islamic year and commemorates the time when the Qu’ran is said to have been revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. This occurred on Laylat Al-Qadr, one of the last 10 nights of the month. Ramadan ends when the first crescent of the new moon is sighted again.

I have recently heard from several Muslims here that this Ramadan maybe especially bloody all around the world as so-called Muslims wage a so-called Jihad against their enemies. As I said this yesterday, we have now seen attacks in Paris France and elsewhere. Last year's Ramadan was especially bloody as those miscreants try to destroy the holy month by doing attacks all around the world, which all true Muslims completely condemn. However this year's miscreants appear to be gearing up for a much worse season of violence and murder and Mayhem.

May God protect the innocent from this insanity.

If a handful of whack-job Buddhist are killing and Mass deporting Muslims then those handful of whack-job Buddhists are not indicative of Buddhism and what Buddhism is all about and they certainly do not reflect poorly on the other 1 billion Buddhists who are devout practitioners of their religion.

Now let's look at the Crusades. Several armies from many different white European countries marched to the Middle East and slaughtered Muslims in Palestine and in Anatolia and in Iraq and in the Levant. Does that mean that all the Christians in the United States and in Europe are now Mass murderers and scumbags?

Where did I say all Muslims are murdering scumbags. You made a post about it being a bloody Ramadan and I’m just making note. I sat at a table at work with some Muslim coworkers as they broke fast and they were saying they heard from reliable sources it would be a violent time, also, fresh dates are delicious
