The US is now losing the war in Afghanistan
The US is losing the war in Afghanistan: Like Viet Cong, Taliban knows that waiting it out will defeat invaders

The latest conflicting reports about whether or not the Taliban has taken the strategic city of Ghazni between the Afghan capital of Kabul and Kandahar reflect the dilemma and difficulties that the American forces face today.
The concerns come despite the firepower and technology that the US has applied against an insurgent force, which has taken over more than 50 percent of the country. This is despite America having almost completely driven out the Taliban when it first invaded Afghanistan in late 2001.
The battle for Ghazni and indeed the effort to defeat the Taliban in remote areas of the country suggest that, notwithstanding the intelligence, technology and communications capabilities at its disposal, the US is losing the battle to secure the country.
If the Taliban occupies Ghazni by defeating Afghan forces, it effectively would cut off southern Afghanistan from the Kabul government, which would represent a significant development.
As one intelligence official recently told this writer, if the US were to pull its troops out of Afghanistan, Kabul and the corrupt US-installed government there wouldn’t last beyond a week despite the 16 years that the US has been fighting in the country.
Indeed, the Taliban have shown no intention of joining the government, and refuse to negotiate anything as long as foreign forces, namely the US and its NATO allies, remain in the country.
The Taliban, through its insurgent tactics, have demonstrated the ability to attack Afghan forces in Kabul despite all the security that has been employed there and the training the US has provided to the Afghan military and security forces.

It sucks @Freedom so much blood, money and spent in Afghanistan and now most who were in it read about places they worked very hard, lost good friends, saw all kinds of shit no human should see being lost to the people we chased out. I can tell u a lot of the populace was very happy to be freed from the Taliban, they couldn’t listen to music, play games like billiards and kids couldn’t find out. Since the war children’s ability to read and write increased by a major percentage especially amongst girls. I’m not going to blame obama but he made the rules of engagement ridiculous soldiers were being arrested for questioning known Taliban higher ups. So many were scared to engage nothing could get done. We could probably clear it up
Again but it would take a lot of troops and carpet bombing and that would create all kinds of shit. The Chinese are also setting up camp buying up the Afghan resources and they don’t care who they pay. As it stands now I don’t see a lot of hope
Re: The US is now losing the war in Afghanistan
The Taliban did a good job making the place seem like it was from the 1200’s which they thought was the purest form of Islam, damn thinking about it makes me very sad for the people that were enjoying the freedom

The White Man's Burden is a sickness that has to be crushed
it was also a famous book from the 1950s which explains it all better than I can
What business do white soldiers have over in Afghanistan on the other side of the planet in a Muslim country?
F*** it they will never understand
Re: The US is now losing the war in Afghanistan
And before the white man's pedantry kicks in on this topic,. ......
White soldiers in my above post means white soldiers from America and the recently freed black slaves and the impoverished Hispanics who the white military now employees along with other white soldiers to go and fight their dirty Wars on the other side of the planet to try to tell other people how to govern themselves and what to believe and how much education they should give their population and what women should and should not do and their cultures

Theoretically that opinion is fine and I tend to agree with it. But on the ground going in there and actually physically doing something about it it's a little bit arrogant and presumptuous
Re: The US is now losing the war in Afghanistan
There was no need for war in the first place. As Chomsky said: The Taliban asked for evidence, the US refused, and invaded anyway. It is a terrible thing to do when diplomacy was not even attempted. Then when you refuse to put Bin Laden on trial and dump him in the ocean it makes you wonder why the reluctance to provide evidence. Walrus you ended up going there and seeing terrible things and I am sure that has had a profound affect on you and will stay with you forever. I just don't think it needed to happen and think it is wrong to invade countries, but also see the harm it does to troops too. That's trillions of dollars that could have been spent on infrastructure and national investment projects.
