With Degale and BJS vacating their belts, can someone explain how much of a loss that is in future earnings, sponsorship etc.
This is for all former champions that vacate their belt..how does that impact on the business side of things and how they’re viewed from the public.
Degale vacated the belt as he felt his mandatory was too dangerous for him and he could earn more money fighting easier opponents at this stage of his career. Degale may fight Eubank Junior, so that was probably worth it for him.
BJS had no other choice, he failed a drug test and looked a prat swearing at the panel. He will wait his turn and see if he can get another shot. BJS needs a title as no one would really want to fight him because he is a skilled southpaw boxer who does not bring in big money.
