Freak coincidences in sports
Not many football and baseball fans in here.... but still.....
Last night (Sunday) the New England Patriots beat the Kansas City Chiefs on a last second field goal to win that NFL matchup. Boston was partying.
At the same time, the Boston Red Sox were hanging on to beat the Houston Astros in Game 2 of their American League Championship Series. Boston was partying harder.
Tonight, the Green Bay Packers (Wisconsin) beat the San Francisco 49ers on a last second field goal to win that NFL matchup. Wisconsin was partying.
At the same time, the Milwaukee Brewers (Wisconsin) were hanging on to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of their National League Championship Series. Wisconsin was partying harder.
What are the odds?

Probably just part of the programming.
Like when someone amazingly just gets missed in an accident. When another person, in the only car on a highway gets struck by a crashing plane. When it's your time the system knows and will get you, if it's not your time, it will bend around you.

The thought did cross my mind that maybe the scheduling but..... no..... the NFL schedule is set way before the season begins. And no one could know the Red Sox (they could've lost to the Yankees) and Brewers would've had games on the same nights as their NFL counterparts. That is amazing enough. Then add the fact that all 4 of them win, and the football teams by the same fashion and margin..... and you've got an oddity right there. I don't know, it just seemed to jump out at me. I'll probably hear it in SportsCenter this morning. ;D

As a great American orator :-X once said.. A lot of people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch of unconnected incidents and things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice of coincidence that lays on top of everything. Give you an example, show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say "plate" or "shrimp" or "plate of shrimp" out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one either. It's all part of a cosmic unconsciousness.
