Did anyone see.....

ESPN classics the other night. They showed Ike Williams v Beau Jack, I've never seen footage of Williams before he looked a really sharp & accurate puncher. Anyway at the end of the fight in the 6th Jack was propped up against a neutral corner & took what must have been 10-15 full blooded shots to the head, Williams then turned to the ref & asked him to stop it the ref ignored him so he landed 3 or 4 more humdingers & the ref stepped in.

I found myself swearing at the ref, I might be stating the obvious but it just struck me how different the sport was then.
