Re: Prime Floyd Patterson vs Muhammad Ali
look at 2:07 some of the Old Floyd Magic, what a move to his left and NAILS ALI WITH A DOUBLE RIGHT HARD AS FUCK. YOu cant teach guys to do that anymore. This was a GUTSY LAST PERFORMANCE IN THE ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER OF FLOYD PATTERSON.
God Bless YOu and thank you, Mr. Patterson.
Re: Prime Floyd Patterson vs Muhammad Ali
At the 2:07 mark I could tell Floyd had some fans. They dug that sequence!O0

Yes man, he was a BEAST. I truly believe that a prime 1956-57-58 Patterson beats Ali like Jimmy Young beat Ali.
Re: Prime Floyd Patterson vs Muhammad Ali
Ali beat Floyd twice and wanted too fight him earlier to become the youngest heavyweight champion. Floyd was too small and got pulverised by Liston. No way Ali would lose to Patterson.

Floyd did the best he could in a division where everyone was bigger and it was amazing that he had power enough to reach the top of the division and Ali was bigger, stronger and equal in speed if not better because of the age difference. But being realistic by todays often incomplete standards he would have been some light heavyweight champ, a domineering one if he had stayed true to size but the prize was the big one everyone wanted, THE HEAVYWEIGHT CROWN. Cruiserweight at 190 would have been just as satisfying but everyone is so large these days.

Most people felt that he won that fight that night in Landover Maryland. He was small enough and wily enough to give Ali fits I think a prime Floyd passion could do the same
Re: Prime Floyd Patterson vs Muhammad Ali
Patterson not passion that was a typo
Re: Prime Floyd Patterson vs Muhammad Ali
I saw the Jimmy Young Muhammed Ali Fight twice and all Jimmy did after trying to land combinations with any substance was stick his head between the ropes for fifteen rounds.

Rocky Marciano would have been one of the best at the weight. Imagine him fighting Evander Holyfield at that weight. It would be an epic matchup.

With holyfield's iron chin even I have to wonder if Marciano could hurt him
