The Jab Class! Which ATG demonstrated it the Best!?
In no Particular Oder
1. Lennox Lewis
https://youtu.be/IIxk4E73R7o
2. Bernard Hopkins
https://youtu.be/3Xhvexh41LQ
3. Paulie Malinaggi
https://youtu.be/vzu4ryw7mLw
4 Aaron Davis
https://youtu.be/lwuTP6ad9zU
5. Larry Holmes
https://youtu.be/q8Lnb-VvFRI
Lennox stresses where elbows are at when releasing the job- maintain that free hand at the chin. Turn the punch over as you release it. (to generate power?)
Bhop uses jab to setup & to keep opponent off balance. He will preference throwing a jab to the shoulder as a means to get his foe off balanced. He won't look at footwork, rather eyes, elbows. I love his honesty when pressed about hitting on the hips- Bhop said yeah he does it but only because he knows where the referee is at !!!;D;D Interviewer sucked up a lil too much spoke too much, but overall a good class.
Paulie referenced using the jab to get real-estate (spacing)ring generalship? He also talked about pushing that back heel- when using the jab for power.
Aaron Davis talks about not using body movement when jabbing, the jab itself should be in motion. (not telegraphing one's jab?)
Larry Holmes preferences on (not being tense?) flick the jab, relaxed when releasing it.- Mentioned like whipping/snapping a towel, so speed IMO it what he stresses.

Not thinking about their careers, rather the class itself I am stumped.
It isnt that these guys are contradicting each other, rather they pose theories IMO that validate how versatile the jab is. The many ways to throw it, possible positions/stance when releasing it and of course the purpose is even multi-tiered.

Ok I vote BHOP.
He mentions of using not just a str8 jab -but an upjab or variations of the jab.
He also teaches on focusing the jab- upstairs, to the body & something rarely heard- using the jab to hit shoulders -when technically a judge is looking to score for shots to the body/head not shoulders.
That means he is focusing on fights that may/will go the distance.
And how that punch can create imbalance as most fighters are pretty solid in their stances.
We know how the jab is supposed to set up other punches -but he explains how. So If I wanted a lesson and saw these clips only as an option- He would be #1 to learn from!!!!
