Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Another one that falls under the radar and off the screens tomorrow night. Both have solid skill and should be pretty competitive chess match. Apparently for a interim wba 130 lb trinket. Chris Colbert 14-0 has some flash and style. Receives some premature comparisons to a young Whitaker thanks PBC crew ;D. Jaime Arboleda 16-1 can bring the speed and fireworks and we're going to see what kind of beard Colbert has.
Co main is at 160 with Ronald Ellis 17-1-2 taking on Matt Korobov 28-3-1. Starting to wonder if Korobov is truly jinxed after his last 3 starts. 'tko' to Eubank Jr a bit bogus but with Eubank out a year now why not a rematch? Not sure of start time but will try to catch.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Thanks for the heads up. ;D
It appears there's gonna be plenty of boxing on TV tonight.
Colbert-Arboleda is supposed to be televised on Showtime....... and over on ESPN they have the Shakur Stevenson vs Toka Khan Clary fight.
Two of my local guys (Felix Verdejo, Edgar Berlanga) are fighting on the Stevenson card... so I'm obviously looking forward to those. ;D

I think that Verdejo loses this one. I’ll give my condolences beforehand in case I forget afterwards 😁

I'm not all that confident, TBH. He's gotta show me something before I start getting excited over his potential again.
But thanks. Condolences accepted. ;D
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Ellis and Korobov in opener actually. Ellis blows contracted 161 wt by 5 lbs :p. Tonight he weighs 180. There has to be a bigger penalty than 10-20 percent for guys who do this. Hope he catches a brick.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Korobov with the accuracy in 1st and slips in a couple of clean right crosses.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Yeah... I'm pretty tired of guys just blowing off weight limits and coming in heavy. No frigging discipline. Makes me want to root for Korobov. I thought Korobov took the first round anyway.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Korobov letting the hands roll off in close picking spots. Bit smothering but moving an inactive Ellis around. Ellis jabbing last minute not much behind it. 2-0 Korobov
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Maybe I'm suddenly biased... but gave the 2nd to Korobov also.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Site is running sloooooow? Alright lets try again ;D. Ellis opening up mid third probably took that round.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Round 3 was closer... not sure who I'd give it to, TBH.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Ok I'll give Rd 3 to Ellis... but Rd 4 was all Korobov. 3-1 Korobov.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Nice exchanges along ropes 4th. Korobov getting in cleaner and getting out. Ellis just looks odd in the legs doesn't move too smooth at all. Korobov 4th me thinks
Ellis with Courage Tshabalala working corner, remember him ;D;D.
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
OMG..... fight's over!! Korobov is one brittle dude. :-\ :-X
Re: Chris Colbert v Jaime Arboleda Showtime
Last time out a torn rotator cuff..... now some kind of ankle issue. He's 37, so........ maybe the time to hang 'em up is approaching.
