"Report: Canelo Alvarez to face Billy Joe Saunders in super middleweight unification bout"
Well... things are shaping up pretty nicely for Canelo, it seems. After Canelo disposes of "Whathisname" in February, he's planning on a unification bout against Saunders as part of the Cinco de Mayo weekend. The Hollywood script continues undisturbed. Although never been a fan of Canelo's Hype Train... I might even root for Canelo in the Saunders fight. That guy's tough to root for, on account of being basically a scumbag.
I just don't see anything in Saunders' arsenal that would even come close to bothering Canelo. Yeah... he'll probably outbox Canelo for a few rounds... but at some point he'll get tagged, and that will be the beginning of his downfall. My early prediction would be Canelo by mid to late round TKO.
It'll be on DAZN... so once again I won't watch it, and maybe I'll catch a replay at some point in the future on a regular TV channel.
They say maybe Plant later in the year... but I'm beginning to get the distinct impression (and a depressing one at that) that the super-middleweight division has nothing to impede Canelo from continuing his "made-for-Hollywood" reign. Down at 160 or up at 175... yes. There are some definite and very real dangers there. Which is why Canelo will settle in at 168 and only go up or down to pick off zebras by the watering hole and then scamper back to 168.
Too bad his "0" was ruined by Money Mayweather. Maybe they'll gloss over that in the movie, and make CJ Ross out to be the only competent judge that night. ;) ;)

Why won't you watch it on DAZN?

STUNNING Gigantic new $2billion ‘Death Star’ stadium could host Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders in May
Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders reportedly could take place at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The WBA, WBC and WBO super-middleweight world title unification is now agreed to take place on May 1 or May 8, providing Canelo comes through his next fight against Avni Yildirim unscathed on February 27.
The next step is to solidify the date and confirm a venue.
Promoter Eddie Hearn and Canelo’s manager Eddy Reynoso are organising the fight together.
According to ESPN Mexico, their first choice would be the new Allegiant Stadium which opened last year for the Las Vegas Raiders NFL team.
This gigantic ultra-modern structure stands out in the Nevada desert, with Vegas’ other landmarks made to look small in comparison.
Sin City has never had a mega stadium before and is used to hosting big fights in its famous indoor arenas.
However, the MGM Grand and T-Mobile Arena only have capacities of around 17,000 and 20,000 respectively.
The Allegiant Stadium can host upward of 60,000.
In today’s times of social distancing and restricted crowds, the Allegiant Stadium may be able to house between 10,000-20,000 people – a number the indoor arenas simply cannot match at present.
The stadium itself cost $1.975billion to build and ran $175million over the initial £1.8billion budget.
It has garnered the nickname ‘The Death Star’ because of the futuristic outer appearance.
On the inside, facilities are top notch and will hopefully host full capacity crowds in the not-too-distant future.

I'm still waiting for it to either implode, or become so big it swallows up all of boxing and all that's left on ESPN, Fox, and other networks are pitiful scraps... which of course would leave me no choice.
What with all the complaints I see here about choppy feed and other such issues... I'm waiting a bit more. Was never a DAZN-type fan to begin with... and still holding out hope that the networks step up to the plate.

Same here I just don’t want to add another subscription thing. Netflix should buy dazn and be done with it. They need a sports presence

Liking DAZN so far. Simple interface, no frills content, straight to it.

Canelo ? Three fights in five months ? Not bad.

All Billy "Ho" Saunders has to do now is make sure the fight isn't cancelled because of a failed a drug test, him raping a woman or he gets Michelle Joy Phelps pregnant because he's banged her too much.
Hopefully all roads leads too Cinco De Mayo weekend. The Mexicans will go there, get their tequila mariachis and demand blood. I'm not sure Saunders style is gonna please them but as long as Saunders is allowed to prepare properly and isn't drained then this is the best fight at the weight. Not unprovens like Benevidez, Plant and Andrade. They don't come close to Saunders resume.
And no one worry about Canelo getting past his next fight. The Yildirim scorecards have already been filled out
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
"Scorecards"?? You're giving "Whatshisface" way too much credit.
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
BJS should still fight in March.
He needs to be active.
He won’t win on the scorecards and there’s no way he’s knocking out Canelo.
He has to achieve a Mayweather type domination by winning at least 11 rounds.
I will definitely renew DAZN again for this fight.
What happens to Andrade?
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
I used to think BJS would beat Canelo, but with his level of recent opponents and failing the drug test I just don’t see it now.
Both cheaters getting a mega pay day.
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
Canelo is putting all the young prima-donna's to shame. Fighting regular whilst wiping out a division is the stuff of a great.
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
Just as long as they're not Mexicans. ;) ;)
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
Canelo seems to have developed his fighting style into a defensive type plodding forward counter puncher and it’s enjoyable to watch.
He has plenty of kudos for beating Smith.
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
the legend continues to grow
Re: Canelo to fight BJS in May
another Fury/wilder, canelo/golovkin, lewis/holyfield draw
