Need help-Old British police sitcom!

Hey guys,

I need some help trying to remember an old British police television show from the 80's, possibly the late 70's. It stared a guy who was a police officer who always wore a glove over his hand because that hand was a prosthetic- fake- hand. Do you remember? I think they used to call him Ashley or sumfink?!? Do any of you guys remember?!

lol.. It has been killing for me years. Literally. I can't find it anywhere because I can't remember the name.

70s a bit early for me but we get enough repeats so I'd definitely know it. I don't remember no police officer with a fake hand

I do remember an american TV series around early 80s with a guy with a fake hand who could add tools and shit to it - that character was called Tork I think but I don't recall the series name.

Sounds like the plot to the Fugitive or the bad guy in Enter the Dragon.

It was Canadian. No one really watched Canadian television. Not even Canadians. lololol.....
