Will Wilder-Joshua EVER happen??
First off... let's not go into the usual rants about "who ducked whom" in the past. I'm only interested in the future.
Let's address the white elephant in the room.
Let Tyson Fury fight the Derek Chisoras of the world, and continue to flap his gums non-stop.
People want to see Wilder vs Joshua.
People don't want to see a heavyweight version of Crawford-Spence. One of those is more than enough. :vd:
Let's examine this one...
Both are currently out of the HW title picture. AJ has lost twice in a row to Usyk... while Wilder lost his last two encounters with Fury.
Neither are over-the-hill... and both are still huge draws.
People have wanted Wilder-Joshua since Day One. They STILL do.
Wilder-Joshua would definitely be fan friendly. Their styles make this an absolute certainty.
So let's quit pussy-footing around!!

I think Wilder v Joshua will happen but after the titles have been broken and fractured.
Fury will beat Usyk, then AJ.
After that AJ will take on Wilder probably in 2023.
It will be 50/50 fight and will not last no more than 3 rounds.

...don't seem to go together for me. :)
First we're assuming that Fury-Usyk will go off without a hitch or delay or some other theatrics by Fury, who changes his mind more than he changes his underwear.
So if AJ is waiting on that fight in order to make a Fury-Joshua fight... he might be waiting a LOOONG time.
Second... if what you're saying DOES occur and Fury-Joshua happens... what happens if Fury blows Joshua away?
Wilder then might not be willing to fight a 4-time defeated Joshua after that.
If by some chance Joshua were to beat Fury... then Joshua will probably decide he doesn't NEED to risk it all against Wilder.
So no... I don't see that happening at all. ;D

I think the timetable does fit.
Fury KO8 Usyk Feb/March for Undisputed title which disintegrate and dispersed for Joyce et al to pick up titles.
AJ KO 4 Whyte April pick up alphabet strap
Wilder KO 3 Ruiz April pick up alphabet strap and defends it successfully in the summer/autumn.
Fury KO10 Joshua Summer and retires after 1 send off fight.
Wilder will avoid Fury as he has effectively been beaten by him 3 times.
AJ is damaged goods and takes the opportunity to take Wilder after another warm up against Chisora Autumn or for a belt. AJ is a money fight for Wilder and thinks he can cash in on him early 2023.

Fury himself has made a career fighting deadbeats, look at his record without Wilder and it is shockingly bad. Wilder for all the fodder in his record has fought Fury three times now and Joshua has just fought Usyck twice. That puts Wilder and Joshua firmly in place as the other two top draws in a top pack of four. The AJ/Wilder fight itself would be pretty huge and whatever you think of their ability, Wilder v Usyk would be pretty big and Joshua v Fury would be even bigger.

Not much to contribute I guess but I'm ok without Aj vs Wilder at this point. They both mucked around and watched it pass them by and were convincingly beat for their troubles. I want to see AJ get his footing back first, prior to Fury, Wilder, Usyk neighborhood. Whole new trainer coming in. Again. For entertainment purposes I'd like Wilder vs Joyce :fight:

Fury list of opponents is shit, as are Wilder's. AJ Wilder should have happened years ago and Wilder has admitted he avoided Joshua, but at least he fought 'the man' instead.

I'm doubting any of these fights with the top guys will happen. I saw something yesterday saying Usyk must face Dubois.
It really is pathetic isn't it. Gone are the days of fighting 3 or 4 times a year.

Becoming undisputed champion for either Fury or Usyk is the priority for boxing. It carries the most money, legacy for the boxers, and ensures the decency of boxing. The mandatory’s will get their opportunity after the titles are dispersed which is what happened after it was last unified by Lennox.
The next biggest fight is Fury v AJ which can still be made but AJ looks too confused and lost.
Wilder v AJ is still a big fight but AJ will only take it as a last resort. After all the above scenarios have occurred I can see it happen but it is a long shot.
Big matchups still happen way after their best sell by date. Lennox v Morrison, Holyfield v Mercer, and Tyson v Holyfield.

I'd say we're well past the stage of getting to undisputed champion is a priority. Fighters should just have to concentrate on beating the best - politics does not allow it.
I'd love two fighters brave enough to say fuck the belts we'll get it on anyway. I've ignored different champions for some time and gone by the Ring champion.
A unified championship would be split before one of them makes a defence - we all know it. How does that ensure the decency of boxing.

Does not matter as much about defending the undisputed and unified title than achieving it. There are too many belts to be able to defend them successfully anyway.
Boxing has to aspire to have one champion and if it can be achieved which it can on this occasion then it will happen.
