I've never liked the WBC. But I must give them credit for trying to do something about this egregious problem in boxing.
I don't know how it'll work out in the end... but at least an effort is being made to create a niche for transgenders, while keeping traditional boxing categories (particularly women) safe.
I’m not really interested in Women’s Boxing and I certainly won’t be interested in Transgender Boxing.
Don’t get me wrong, they have the right to do what the fuck they want, the same as I have the right to sack it off.
I'll watch women's boxing when it involves a high skill set level between the two women (aka: Serrano-Taylor).
Or when it's a huge fight (aka: Serrano-Taylor).
Otherwise I'm not too interested either.
Transgender boxing? I only like the idea because maybe now they'll leave women alone without the preposterous idea of having (cough) transitioned "women" fight REAL women. Criminal assault in most civilized cultures.
The WbC you say :greedy:. Roughly 34 years following this boxing circus and within the States I vaguely recall 1 trans boxer participating in 1 fight. It was an Oscar promotion :-X. And it was a woman to man beating up a man. Who was protecting him. This is a stunt by a corrupt alphabet boss and he probably already has a belt designed.
