Mayweather pound for pound ?
How is Floyd pound for pound the best fighter when his competition compared to other claiments
Well look at Floyds competition over the last four years its hardly awe inspiring To say Floyd is supposed to be pound for pound the best fighter on the planet
Zab Judah ,Sharmba Mitchell, Arturo Gatti, Henry Bruseles, DeMarcus Corley, Phillip N'dou, Victoriano Sosa and Jose Luis Castillo.
Castillo apparently gave Floyd his hardest fight yet he was knocked out 4 times and held to a draw before he even got in the ring with Floyd
Floyd couldnt match Tszyu against Judah and Mitchell, Gatti was there for the taking like he was 6 times before
Brussels was knocked out 5 rounds earlier by a journy man and beaten on a decision by another before Floyd, Corly lost twice and 1 was to judah.
N Dou was was knocked out by Anthony Campbell who had lost 15 times and Sosa who had lost Twice and been knocked out in the Second by a journy man.
An extremely poor resume for any fighter let alone a supposed top pound for pound fighter
Also how does he think hell live with Hatton if he couldnt hurt Judah with his glass chin but Tszyus best efforts bounced off Rickys skull, he doesnt have enough power to get Rickys respect and also doesnt move as much as hed need to
Im not attacking Floyd or his competition just why he is held in such high regard when the fighters he has beaten have been beaten better by other fighters, Floyd hasnt done anything out of the ordinary with these opponents, he a good fighter but how many undefeated fighters has he beaten let alone faced.
I think Carrales is the only undefeated fighter hes beaten and its pretty much agreed that Diego was killing himself to make weight
PS, when posting this in someones thread on boxingtalk the Mayweather mad mods started actualy swearing and getting heated and closed one thread down, all I posted is this, no bullshit just facts

No mod will do that here...the thing is...it's a bit of an old arguement.
You can break apart anyone's opposition & nit pick anyone...if you give me a fighter that you can't do that with...I'd be surprised.
No bullshit...just facts. The majority of everyone has had a close fight or a loss on their record.
Floyd is a great fighter & he hasn't lost yet...although many do indeed want to see that very thing happen. Only time will tell.

Well i think he deserves to be number 1, his compitition is not the best but he is still only 29 years old look at Bernard Hopkins he had to wait so long for another big fight after RJJ.
Mayweather has fought and beat some tough guys, and Judah showed that the Baldomir performance was a total one off, and he would win a huge decision if they faught again.
Judah was a good test for Mayweather i cant critizize Floyd for fighting Judah that was a big test and step up from anything he has faced in the last couple of years.

I wanna see him lace up with Zab again, but lets not forget that Floyd could still be fighting down at 135. The dude is practically having to move up in weight classes to find competition. Eventually he's going to get in deep water. He definitely looked very human saturday night.

Read this, it really is quite unbeleivable that a board could be so pro toward One fighter and also quite disturbing how the mods treat anyone witha point of view that doesnt match theirs.
Just for a laugh someone go in their chat and say sometghing along the lines that I have about Floyd only fighting One undefeated fighter or something along the lines of that, no bullshit just facts and see the rabid reaction you get, thats if they dont lock or delete the topic.
I think the reason mine lasted so long is because I actualy stated "how longs it gonna take" Plus it was a valid point that the mod felt he needed to defend Floyd on ;D

It's not what you said...but what you said & how you responded in your follow ups.
I will give you this much...that's a bit...wrong the way that the mod handled that mess...but you didn't do any better antagonizing it...then again...we can all do our fair share of antogonizing things...it just doesn't get that out of hand here...unless you let it.

I agree with the part above 100% that Entragian said...Judah did indeed make Floyd seem a bit human in the start...not sure if that was Floyd taking his time to figure the puzzle out or if it was more Judah...but Judah was in the ring...so one equals the sum of the other, IWO.
Now...I pretty much agree with all of what you said meowza. Floyd was wearing Zab down as the rounds went by...but I don't think that Zab was landing the more pleasing punches all along.
Personally I think that Floyd tore him up pretty well after the 5th.
Now...that being said...sticking to his gameplan is the least of what he should do...if the way that he fought Judah is his new gameplan.
Going in & going straight to work is the way to do it...the same plan he took against Corrales, Gatti, & Corley is the road to follow...but he was even a bit tentative with Corley.

Yeah I agree I don't like that gameplan for every fight from now on, but for this particular fight he gambled and it worked.
I believe it was his understanding that Zab would come out working for the first several rounds then shut down significantly.
That's when Floyd would turn it on and do the business. And that's what happened.
So instead of going in early on, the plan was to consistently work at a measured pace then beat up a discouraged and frustrated Zab in the middle rounds.
Now, Floyd might be bullshatting and the fight just ended up that way.
But if that was indeed his gameplan, it worked really really well.
