Benavidez should move to LH if Canelo fight don't happen by end of 2024

Benavidez should just move on up. No reason to wait around for a guy who does not want to fight. Canelo is clearly afraid to fight Benavidez.

Benavidez is moving up for his next fight against Oleksandr Gvozdyk June 15th and says other than Canelo he will stay at the weight.

That is exactly what he said.

Canelo may lend an eye to his fight with Gvozdyk and his trainer and people will have a bird's eye seat working the corner of Gvozdyk. Should everything gho to plan and Benavidez get the W it wouldn't shock me to see them put out a double talk mention of Benavidez for the Sept date. Some lame attempt to sway favor as its clear fans have grown tired. Full well knowing an 80 day turn around and coming back down to 168 put's Benavidez in an iffy spot shape wise. But it gives Canelo the "hey I offered" out :p.

Or he'll just say "I can do whatever I want" and go embarrass himself fighting Berlanga. Also with Beterbiev v Bivol off there goes the "guaranteed" winner for Benavidez so he'll do some more waiting. All in all though...focus is key. Nothing but tunnel vision on Gvozdyk is where David should be. Reading your own press clipping has bitten more than a few fighters right in the arse many time.

I just hope Gvozdyk is healthy. You know he suffered a career ending brain injury a little while back and was told to retire.

i guess it wasn't career ending if he's been fighting again. i heard it was only mild concussion
