Rory FINALLY wins the Masters
Let me start by saying that I know basically no one cares about golf. ;D
But I've always been a fan of momentous occasions in sports... and this one qualifies as one of those. :)
Basically, Rory McIlroy finally won his first Masters tournament, to become the 6th golfer in history to have a Career Slam. The rest are a Who's Who of golfing. The last to do it was Tiger Woods back in 2000. Before that, it was Jack Nicklaus in 1966. I actually recorded the last round on Sunday so I could see it later, since I was out of the house. I'm glad I did. That was one see-saw round. :o Rory almost blew it on more than one occasion. But he always came back with a monstruous shot in order to stay the course. I was hoping he'd win, and it seems he had most of the crowd on his side as well. The round actually went into a sudden death playoff, as Justin Rose (his closest competitor) birdied the 18th hole, while Rory bogied it. A lot of drama, albeit of the golf variety. ;D
Anyway, thought it was worth a mention. ;D
Re: Rory FINALLY wins the Masters
I never thought he would do it and was actually thinking he did not care enough to work hard to achieve the last win. He seemed content.
However the emotion he showed winning it and what it meant to him showed he was desperate to win. Glad he did it and hope he can relax now and win others more easily.
