Joseph Parker v Fabio Wardley
British heavyweight Fabio Wardley has been in recent discussions to face Joseph Parker in a fight that would take place on October 25 at London’s O2 arena.
Parker and his team had been pushing for a mandatory title shot against Oleksandr Usyk but Usyk had recently requested an extension to negotiate with Parker citing injury, only for a video to circulate of Usyk tearing up the dance floor looking plenty spry. That video would agitate Team Parker a bit, questioning the legitimacy of Usyk’s claimed injury, but hasn’t stopped them from looking elsewhere in the event the Usyk fight doesn’t come together.
That apparently puts Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs) in good position to be Parker’s next likely opponent. Wardley is most recently coming off a 10th round stoppage over Justis Huni in June, following his swift knockout over Frazer Clarke in their late 2024 rematch.

Re: Joseph Parker v Fabio Wardley
Parker needs to fight and be active. He can't wait for Usyk.
This fight is a good contest against a top young undefeated fighter who will test Joseph concentration and chin. Parker is in the best form of his life and should have the skill to out box Wardley over 12 rounds to maintain his number 1 position. It will be a very good contest to watch and see how it plays out.
Wardley was being outclassed in his last contest before he pulled off that knockout. Fabio is taking on the best challengers available to him and credit to him if he wins this as he will be the underdog. Should Wardley win his meteoric rise will continue.

Amazing the hoops Parker needs to jump thru to get a crack. But good on him not just sitting out. The cynic in me says that it'll be Itauma getting winner.

not to be a dick but to push back a little, because i think joseph is most deserving of a shot but a never elite shot to bits deontay, old slow man zhilie who could have got the nod & just got off the plane having not trained at all needs to have some context

The last one for me and said prior, it would be a big asterisk for both. Bakole made a silent agreement with himself. The weight, the flight over on 72 hours (?) and basically a camp that consisted of shadow boxing in the bathroom mirror. But all things considered still think it's a solid run on the 3 in barley over a year. Interim needs to have an expiration date. Kabayel also knocking loudly on the door.
Re: Joseph Parker v Fabio Wardley
yeah agit kabayel arguably has the better recent three fight run (not taking fabio into account). arslanbek makhmudov & frank sanchez were both unbeaten & he stopped zhilei zhang in six & although that run happened in about fourteen months, his activity is pretty bad. one fight twenty eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty one, twenty two & twenty four & only one fight so far this year
Re: Joseph Parker v Fabio Wardley
Agit Kabayel will be facing a good opponent in Germany and announcing it very soon. I do not know who it is yet.
