there has been a hearty dose of bluster from the camp of WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, claiming that he is the ‘most feared fighter in boxing’, and that no one is willing to fight him.
Golden Boy Promotions has the solution to Mr. Margarito’s problem in securing an opponent for a fight this year – in fact, it has three solutions in pound for pound superstar Winky Wright, former junior middleweight champion Kassim Ouma, and rising star Ishe Smith, all of whom are willing to battle Margarito at a moment’s notice.

No all I'm saying is Ishe could hold his own against middleweights as evidenced on the Contender so at 147 lb Margarito would not necessarily be able to overwhelm him. If he couldn't and it came down to boxing ability you would have to give Ishe a hell of a chance, as he is a very slick boxer.
Could be kind of like a Chavez Taylor or Karmazin Spinks kind of fight.

HAHA this is funny. People think that margarito would ko floyd yet when ishe smith is mentioned some people actually think he would beat margarito. I just think this shows that the margarito beating floyd myth exists because people dont like floyd and want him to get beat. Margarito is too slow ok people, floyd would pound him into the ground. Who cares about his power....zab had power, castillo had power,corrales had power, gatti had power(yeah i see this going like that fight). I think floyd would beat margarito down like he did to gatti.

Magorito needs to fight any of those guys. He needs to get in with some respectable opponents so that way when he starts calling people out then he has more credit to his name.

Yeah I sort of agree, he's fought some respectable compition but has never really fought the top 2 or 3 guys in his division.

All of these fighters were virtual unknowns a couple months ago Game. It only takes one fight for a fighter to suddenly become the next big thing. As galaxy says Ishe is on the same level as these guys. His appearance on the Contender has dented his credibility but if you've ever seen the guy fight he's a very slick, very solid fighter.
He cruised past David Estrada who then went on to challenge Shane Mosely for a world title and gave Kermit Cintron fits for 9 rounds or so. He handled Bonsante with greater ease than Allan Green did last week, ok so he doesn't have the punching power of the much bigger supermiddleweight star but his defense is top notch.
I think he's certainly capable of mixing it with the likes of Margarito and Cintron etc. Good fighter, just an arrogant gobshite with it.

Not really,he still hasn't done anything to warrant a shot at Margarito,all the names I mentioned have done far more.PLus Collazo was no "virtuual unknown",he beat Rivera in a great great fight for the 147 title...

Smith ain't ready. He would end up just like the other two prospects Margarito crushed, Hercules Kyvelos and Kermit Cintron. Winky would probably outbox Margarito to a UD. The Ouma fight would be very exciting though. I dunno who would win. Margarito would have to start fast and hurt Ouma early. Or keep him at the end of his punches all night. Cus he can't let Ouma get in close and throw 100 punches a round.

Eric Regan & Badi Ajamu were also ranked #10 by the ring & those guys are crap. Smith would have been rated a long time ago had he not gone on that crap contender show!

Winky-Margarito doesn't really interest me, Winky would shut him down easily IMO.
Ishe's got some talent and looked pretty good against Estrada but then looked like S*** against Randall Bailey and has been pretty inactive. I'd have to go with Margarito in that one.
Margarito-Ouma would be fun and I'd really like it if Ouma would move down to 147 if he could make it cause he's such a small jr middle. Boxrec has him fighting Sechew Powell next though, although I haven't heard anything else about that.

I think you might have a point there. Arum can make Margorito a bigger name by putting out just enough money to other fighters so they wont take it, but enough that the average fan will wonder why not. It makes it look like people are avoiding fighting his guy. This way it builds Margorito so he can get more money off of his fights but doesnt put him into any real fights where he could lose that mystique. Smart on Arums part.

Beat Clottey decisively thats what. Clottey is a rock, mentally, physically and emotionally. Cintron had a emotional breakdown in the ring and started crying, and had no gameplan against Tony. Thats why he gets discredited IMO, fairly or unfairly. But Clottey will fight a hard fight win or lose and he won't cry. Plus after that great fight last Saturday even casual boxing fans took some notice.

Dude,I think you need to watch more of Margarito. His size,power punching output,jab,punches in bunches,switch hitting to create new angles etc etc is a problem for anyone especially if your PBF. I wo9uld be thinking bigger JLC,not as skilled but way more powerful and more active too!

After the Clottey vs Guittarrez war, I wanna see Tony fight Clottey.
But here is the dilemma, what happens when (if) he beats Clottey. I mean, there wasn't anyone in boxing being hyped up as much as Kermit Cintron and it was a war but Tony destroyed him. Now people look back on that and disregard Kermit as trash. I mean what is Margarito supposed to do?
Kermit was/is trash. Anyone seen the Teddy Reid fight? he could never hang with the likes of Margarito, he cried after that fight too.
